SVEN is in Calgary. He's skating at Winsport today.

Sooo glad I was able to see him in what I expect was his last Heat game. Feel for ya, PMM, but maybe Wahl will make you forget all about that Sven guy.

Providence @ UMass - Jankowski is back from his injury, and Gillies is back from the WJC
Notre Dame @ MSU (DeBlouw)

Later: Wisconsin (Ramage) @ Minnesota State

Providence scored on an early PP. Janko with an assist. Currently 1-1 halfway through 1.

End of the First periods in the Providence and BC games.

The good guys lead both games 2-1. Jankowski, Arnold, and Gaudreau each with an assist.

EDIT:

The first is over in the MSU game too. 0-0 still. Deblouw is a faceoff machine 4 for 5 in the first.

John Buccigross ‏@Buccigross Johnny Gaudreau with an absolutely filthy, shortside backhand Sauce Rocket to make it 3-1 BC. He will be tough to beat in the Hobey race.

John Buccigross ‏@Buccigross
two amazing apples and a saucy backhand goal for Johnny Gaudreau. BC dominating UNH. BC didn't have Gaudreu in their loss to Minny. Too bad.

...And don't forget about Billy. Arnold scores to make it 5-1. One of the Flames' prospects in on every one of BC's goals.

4-4 in the Providence game after 2. Still 1A for Janko.

5-1 for BC after 2. 1G-1A for Arnold. 1G-2A for Gaudreau.

1-0 for Notre Dame after 2. DeBlouw 5 for 6 in the faceoffs, 4 shots on goal.

Arnold seems to get lost in all the Johnny hockey hype, but he's had a very solid year. Quietly keeps putting points up.

Yeah, some nights he looks really good and others not so much (like most players I guess). He has size and decent speed, and he shows a lot of smarts defensively.

I am not convinced yet, but I am not writing him off either. I am just waiting to see how he adjusts to the next level. If he can show that he has the speed to play in the AHL, then I will start to get excited - he definitely has some tools.

Providence wins 5-4. Gillies with the win in his return to game action. Jankowski with an assist.

BC wins 5-2. Gaudreau 1 goal, 2 assists and his 6th GWG of the season. Arnold 1G-1A.

MSU loses 1-0. Deblouw 7 for 11 in faceoffs in the game.

He was 11 for 21 tonight. Overall faceoff stats don't seem to be something they track.

Gaudreau now has 26 points in 15 games, including 6 GWG. (And 12 goals overall).
Arnold has 17 points in 18 games.
Elson has a goal tonight.

Thumbs down

I'm getting a little tired of seeing the Oil Kings with a shutout and seeing that Edmonton played the backup Jarry over Brossoit. I know its just sour grapes but Brossoit did so much for the Oil Kings last season and whenever they have an easy opponent the backup goes in. Brossoit should be playing 95% of the games this year whether the opponent is good or not. Go Brossoit Go!!

P.S. I will say that Lethbridge is a good team this season and I had thought that for sure Brossoit had played and got the shutout but I was wrong Oh and by the way he deserved to be on Team Canada as well after the camp he had for them. Okay I'm done venting

I'm a goalie and I think just like other elite athletes Gaudreau just does that backhand shot cutting across the net so well that he'll still keep pulling it off even if opponents are always thinking it's coming. He has his head up so it's not like he won't do something else if a goalie decides to cheat too much.
