What a start! On lap 2 and it’s already more fun than some entire races! I’m looking at you Russia.

Terrible explanation of the Stroll penalty. It had to be that he overtook Norris off track by going onto the outside curb/tarmac to make the pass. Norris had tons of room to turn, he just didn’t expect a car would pass on the outside because there wasn’t a car’s width on the outside.
And TSN goes to commercial so we miss the interview with Otmar.

I think that Merc rule should show any Bottas haters why his talent deficit to Lewis doesn’t mean much. He’s 10s back and his team won’t let him try an alternate strategy to get closer. He’s paid to finish second and that’s about it. That’s gotta be demoralizing.

I can’t believe there wasn’t a safety car. I thought for sure we’d see a few incidents.

This is why they need to choose rainy season to hold the races in. After lap 3 it was boring as hell again. But holy crap for the first 2 laps!

F1 is going to Saudi Arabia next year.
Can’t wait for the pre race beheading. Gives new meaning to Drive to Survive. (Both stolen from Reddit comments)

Ahhh flamesrule takes the lead in our Lance Stroll side wager. Stroll falls to 11th in driver standings after this race, two points back of Sainz.

Honest question. Has any other previous record holder raced against such inferior competition than Hamilton? Im not talking about drivers but cars overall.
I don't really want to put an Asterix beside his record wins and poles and eventual title record but for the life of me I cannot recall even Schumacher having as easy a time getting to 7 titles or 91 wins like Hamilton has. Maybe 2 seasons of pure Ferrari domination with Schumi?
I dont know, just seems like if literally anybody else drove Hamilton car they'd be multiple times champ too.
This era of F1 isn't even fun IMO. Its one team, a crazy sizeable gap to the next team and then yet another gap to 2 or 3 other teams.

I don’t think so. Merc has something like a 40% 1-2 rate in the hybrid era and have won a remarkable % of races, probably in the 60-80% range. Far, far higher dominance than Michael ever enjoyed, at least in the long term. He had only a couple seasons with a car that dominant.
