I agree, and he is a left wing. In the past I wanted him as well. But I was wrong.

What about jarnkrok? Rh shot and lindys cousin. Probably a lot cheaper than arvidson or forsberg.

Wtf is going on with this page? First Jack Eichel is no better than half our team and now Forsberg is better than Tkachuk?? Is there a new hallucinogenic on the market going around in Calgary?

Flames had their chance at Wilson in the 2012 first round.

Moved down to take Jankowski.

Nashville is where offence and creativity goes to die. Look at all of their forwards, and how they are doing right now, it’s a black hole. The fact that Forsberg has almost a ppg says that he’s a miracle worker. Get him away from that team, you have a superstar winger.

I'll have whatever you guys are having.

That's a lot of gross in two short posts.

Nashville has scored 3 less goals in 2 less games over the last 2 seasons.

They've also generated shot attempts, shots, and goals at a higher rate than Calgary in that timeframe.

I don't think Forsberg is better than Tkachuk, I just think he fits a need.

Having said that, I am in no hurry to trade Tkachuk either

I am.

Going out on a limb here ...but I genuinely think we’ve seen peak Tkachuk.

I think the mystique of Tkachuk is better than the actual player right now. AOK with trading while the value is inflated (in my mind).

Seems to me there are an awful lot of 'shiny new toy' type ideas floating around these days.

That is not a surprise as Calgary's offense has been abysmal every year except 18/19.
Doesn't mean the point about the Preds any less valid.

Exact opposite of ‘shiny new toy’. I’m not pushing Tkachuk out the door and offering a Forsberg 1 for 1 trade.

I’ve had this toy for a few years and I understand it’s true worth.

If someone else wants to offer a king’s ransom, then I’m all ears.

Seems to me there’s an awful lot of ‘overvaluing your current toys’ floating around here.

Sutter Tkachuk gonna be leaving some people with some regrettable takes. I can feel it!

People can prefer one player to another...to say a guy is "WAY better" when he is older with worse stats is pretty silly though

Forsberg has a career high of 64 points

Playing for a team that very much plays that Sutter style of hockey. Should also add that he's always around the team lead in scoring. My only concern with him is his durability. Seems to spend more than a few games injured each year. I'd happily move Tkachuk as part of a package for Forsberg, but there would have to be another piece in play each way, where the second piece is substantially better than the one we give up. Tkachuk, Bennett and Kylington ($10.34M) for Forsberg and Arvidsson ($10.25M).

Forsberg is fantastic and would be an incredible addition to the team. 0.75 PPG player in the playoffs too with 49 points in 65 games.

I'm sure the cost to acquire him makes it almost impossible though.

Arvidsson would be a great alternative, or even Jarnkrok.

Tkachuk was a different player last year. Scored a ton of timely goals. Just quietly did much more good than bad despite being no faster than now.

If Sutter can even just bring that version of him back, yes lord please.
