I was actually more surprised that a ~30 year old goalie signed a 5-year, $25N contract without an NMC. Especially with Edmonton.

Don't think he had many suitors and was a backup or 1B option getting a lifetime deal, probably didn't care.

Now he is back in California, he played them well.

If the Sharks beat Edmonton, they would be another win and Oiler loss away from having identical records.

Then how the hell did he get $5M x 5 years?

I know, I know....Edmonton.

There are rumours the Oilers are trying to sign this goalie:

Isn't it obvious? He wanted to make it as easy as humanly possible for him to GTFO of Edmonton.

From Calgary Flames "fan" Dragomir, August 2022. A lot of the rubbish he posted around that period hasn't aged well, but the bolded is now especially hilarious.

Anthony Stewart picked him to win the Vezina.

Some other Twitter Oiler troll kept saying how he is easily the best goalie in the Pacific.

At least with that goalie, they'd never have to worry about this again!

I wonder how many times he had to tell management he wasn’t injured before they put him on waivers.

I don't understand why the Oilers went with Campbell in the first place. He's a funny quirky backup goalie who got propped up by a very good situation in Toronto.

There's a reason why it's the Oilers left holding the bag. They're a terribly run organization. They're actively getting in their own way every step of the way.

*edit - oh...wait, turns out I do know why the Oilers went with Campbell. E=NG

If the Oilers had to choose a way to memorialize the occasion they would definitely pick a peck of peppered Pickards placard.

Hmmm wonder where good ole Dragomir is these days. Come to think of it, haven't seen much of Stang or Oil Stain these days either. And hey whatever became of that Village Idiot guy?

Nobody can save the Oilers. Especially not Calvin Pickard.
Kenny Boy checked with Stevie Y. Calvin’s good to go!

Stang was on here last week praising Skinner and the Oilers development... for some unknown reason we haven't heard from him recently. Maybe he also isn't the same since having the covid vaccination, like the caller lamented last night?
