The other thing we shouldn't forget is that the Harry in Dexter's head is his creation. Possibly the representation of the dark passenger itself or else a angel / devil thing with the dark passenger.
That Harry and the womanizing corrupt cop harry are two different people. Season 2 covered that pretty well.

After a solid episode last week, thought this one lagged. Really want this season to pick up.

Maybe not the most exciting episode but it really advanced the plot.
Introduced the season's big villain and how his group of guys go back to childhood with each other.
Dexter, for the first time, has a partner. I don't count Prado because he was just using Dexter to learn from.
After tonight's episode I wouldn't be surprised if a romantic relationship starts between Dexter and Lumen. After all, she's damaged like Rita was when he first met her. But with Lumen, Dexter can be open about who he is and not hide his dark passenger.

everybody who has ever appeared on the show>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Rita
she was annoying and got in the way of Dexter being Dexter. But ya I hope nothing happens between Lumen and Dexter, would be weird.
I liked it, as greenteafrapp said it set up the rest of the season well with Boyd and the other guys all being old friends
the only thing bugging me is the Quinn/Deb relationship, the writing on it seems kind of lazy with them suddenly moving in together after what seems like a week

Un-thanks to this. Rita was the perfect cover for Dexter and he explained that many times in Season One. Rita was innocent, wholesome, the sweet person that hid the real Dexter from the rest of the world. Dexter was able to be Dexter without any suspicion(outside of Doakes) because of Rita, because of the kids, because he was on the bowling team, because he did "normal" things. I can see why people found Rita to be annoying, I personally didn't, but she didn't really hold Dexter from doing what he wanted.

Women who have gone through what Lumen went through don't have romantic relationships for a very, very long time. I don't think that is lost on the writers and I don't think that will happen.
I was hoping Quinn ends up being one of the 5, but that went out the window when he saw Lumen at the accident scene. Damn it.
Sonya is sketchy and I think St. Bridget will come into play soon.

i wonder if the writers are taking the ideas from the books and twisting them a bit. in the book Dexter trains his kids on the code and how to follow in his footsteps, but that just wouldn't work in the show right now. so last night's episode has me pretty convinced that Lumen is taking that role in the TV show, allowing Dexter to have an apprentice. they could play it as Prado being the first attempt, a mistake, that he learns from
and ya, i've reversed my original prediction that the nanny is a diversion, there's definitely something dark about her. my guess is that she's either connected to Rita or Lila in some way

"Dexter I am so mad at you" read that in an angry Rita loud whisper, then watch the old season and notice she always talks like that.

Season Two was entirely the result of her being suspicious of Dexter and him having to admit to an addiction because of her badgering.

maybe I worded it wrong, I found her more annoying than anything especially in the last two seasons
I liked Dexter's relationship with her and that story in 1 and 2, but I felt the character became to one note after season 2. Which is why I had no problem with her being killed off

Thoughts on tonights episode? Nice to see someone on Dexter's table (wow that sounds bad of me). Him and Lumen are becoming closer and closer. Also I am intrigued by Quinn's P.I

I thought he went far out to sea to the dump the bodies now since that almost bit him in the ass with the Bay Harbor Butcher case.
I know Robocop had a gigantic telephoto lens, but how far can it see?

Yeah, that must be some kind of zoom oin that camera. From what I remember about season 2, dexter mentioned that the place where he dumpes the bodies had extremely deep water and the bodies would never be found. He never mentioned how far from shore it was. Obviously not far enough from Robocop's lens. But I always like the story of Dexter on the edge of being caught. I don't care if they already did it in S2. It's still compelling tv.
I liked tonight's episode and I am finally coming around to buying the relationship between Lumen and Dexter. As Dexter said, "Is Lumen the way I'm going to become whole?" Maybe Dexter's secret just needed to be shared all along??

I liked the episode, but it seems like there is too much going on. A lot of drama, and the inevitable (seemingly) crazy babysitter card hasn't even been played yet...
