Spain was trying to get it to pens too. Tough ending for the Germans

Man, Germany has had more than enough chances to win it. Couldn’t bury their chances. That’s the difference. This game deserved to be a final

Thank you Toni Kroos. One of the greatest midfielders of his generation

Germany will be fine going forward. Future looks bright!

I hope Spain makes it out of this side of the bracket. Like I said earlier, fun team to watch. But they’ll be in tough with a bunch of players missing the semi with yellow card accumulation suspensions.

He was missing the semi anyways. And the cards disappear after that.

What a close game, either team could have won. Disappointed for Germany as hosts. Spain is so talented and fun to watch.

Hopefully the next game is half as good as this one. That was sensational, match of the tournament thus far.

That was a fun game, but definitely sad ending for Germany.

Thank you Kroos! We will always have 2014 though.

Oh well, a neutral fan now, so I’ll throw my support behind France

Fullkrug the goat as far as I am concerned. Missed two sitters.

Rudiger out of position by a few steps and angle, on the winner.

Fun game. Still would have liked to see the ref look at both an offside and the handball on that penalty shout. To me personally that was a hand ball. The hand moved into the space that blocked a shot...even if it was trying to return to it's natural position he moved his arm into the flight of the ball.

Germany with another heart break right at the death of extra time on home soil again (Italy in the semi final in 2006).

Grosso scored in the 119' in 2006, and Merino in the 119' minute today. 18 years and one day apart.

Agree that this warranted a second look.
Have to think that was a hand ball.
