Mangiapane should very much be an option as a trade chip in acquiring Eichel. There shouldn't be any untouchables, IMO, but rather how rich the overall package end up as is what matters to me, and how many legitimate scoring lines can the Flames create after everything is said and done.

If we can trade for Eichel while retaining Gaudreau, Tkachuk and Lindholm we are laughing.

Pretty solid 4 to build the top 6 around.

We won’t have to give up all of Monahan, Mangiapane, Dube, Pelletier, and Zary so we will have others to sprinkle in to round out the group. Backlund is there to anchor the 3rd line.

Not a terrible foundation to build upon upfront.

I’m with you on this…. Guessing by end of today Vegas has Eichel and the Flames have a $6MM Blake Coleman and Michael Stone and we get the standard Brad Treliving “I was working multiple fronts and the value wasn’t there” speech.

Vegas offers Tuch, Krebs, 2 1st. Flames would struggle to beat that

When rumours of Coleman came out I was intrigued. With new rumours of asking price , I’m hoping Coleman makes it easy on the flames and picks another team. We laugh at Edmonton and Hyman contract but the Coleman contract would be right up there.

Hopefully now with the rumor the Wild are out the Sabres are engaged with the Flames on a deal. Feels like we hear the Wild are out then in a couple hours we will hear about a deal that is done with them

No. They traded him because they are suffocating for cap-space. Even after moving out $7.0 m VGK still has less than $1.0 m in cap space. Moreover, they are short on young players and prospects—I don't think they have the assets to make the move that Buffalo wants.

Correct, after adding Dadonov they only have 200k cap space
