Bettman has punished teams previously for blatantly circumventing the salary cap, even though it was “within the rules.”

No idea why Bettman is allowing this one.

Last player in history (one of four) to win at least 3 straight cups with more than one team...
Ed Litzenberger 1961-64. ..one with Chicago, three with Toronto.
Maroon wins 3 in a row with St Louis and TB.

Thank goodness the Habs run is over.

I want to be a part of the smug canadian fan base when a Canadian team finally wins a cup again.

Cup-clinching shutouts two years in a row.

Is Maroon the first player to win the Cup in three consecutive years since various members of the Islanders back in 1983?

Congrats to the Habs for an entertaining Cinderella run. It's always fun to cheer for the underdog.
I certainly didn't find the actual hockey entertaining. Their score the first goal and lean on their goaltender to frustrate their opponent is not a recipe for exciting hockey. The Lightning are so good they can beat Montreal at their own game but very little of the Habs cinderella run was pretty.

I don't know why Tampa fans would boo Bettman.

Well, the less wrong team won. They also have 3 cups now all with an asterisk (arguable).

They have been the best team in the NHL, and LTIR or not, the best team won the cup 2 years in a row. Will be interesting to see what moves they are going to be forced to make in this off-season.
