Those Lincoln ads are great for back patting. Are they changing any minds? It really comes across as a Republican image rehabilitation project. Once Trump is (hopefully) gone they’ll step in like “see we’re the good republicans!”
Their ads are cute and funny and that’s about it. They’re the video equivalent of Pelosi’s clapping.
I think they are useful in reminding everyone of how incompetent and horrible he's been. Things were already happening so fast in his administration before 2020 happened. Every week was something new and outrageous, it was easy to forget some all the things that happened before that.

Just wait until Paul Ryan comes back with his "I left before all the Trump craziness started, I swear" run for president.

What will be even more hilarious is when he loses to Tucker Carlson after allowing him to become the face of the party. Of course when Tucker is the nominee the Dems need to nominate Jon Stewart for obvious reasons.

There’s a few variations of that playing nonstop down here. Really going for that fear mongering angle. Biden is selling trucks and trump is selling fear. Yaaaaaaaaay.
That is just incredible messaging. That may be the best political ad I've seen in years, possibly my lifetime. The depth that goes to in a psychological way is just awesome! It establishes a firewall for Trump's behaviors and the social outcomes we are seeing and will make every Republican wrestle with the cognitive dissonance of their support of Trump. Saint Reagan just crushed the devil.

The good thing about that ad to me is that I know a bunch of people who like to identify as “Reagan Conservative” but still just mindlessly vote for any GOP candidate. I’m no fan of Reagan but the GOP today is very far removed from him. It’s nice to see this direct reminder. Unfortunately it’ll probably go right over their heads.

By 2010 Reagan would have never even made it past a Republican primary. It's cute that they're saying this is a Trump problem, but it existed well before.

Really? I see the current Republican Party as the pretty much the same as they were back then. The only difference is the current regime has the benefit of using all the crazy legislation that the party has been able to implement over the past 30 years to get away with things that wouldn’t have been possible during the Reagan era. A lot of what Reagan did has led us to this point, had the FCC Fairness Doctrine not been abolished under Reagan Fox News would look very different than how it does today. One might even argue it may have never been created in the first place.
There are degrees of terrible, Reagan was bad and Trump being far, far worse can both be true. Reagan would no doubt be run out of the GOP in the current age, I mean it's virtually a given as a former Hollywood actor he'd be considered a pedo by the QAnon-ers.

All the tweets that said things like, "why can they afford world class riot gear for all these cops but my mom has to pay out of pocket for her students' crayons"... maybe those things have merit and cities should consider throwing some dollars the other way.
I'm not sure anybody with a brain is actually advocating for what Trump claims they are in these ads.
I mean that totally ignores the incredible disparity in foreign and trade policy, but ok.
Not really. While the world has definitely changed and they’ve had to adapt, the ethos of the Republican Party have remained quite consistent. Whether it be domestic or foreign policy they always seem to make sure it benefits the same group first.
