He didn't give it to Fett. Fett was wearing his own jet pack.
Mando took his off as part of their "put down all your weapons" agreement before the Stormtroopers arrived. When the troopers attacked, he didn't have a chance to put it back on.
It didn't really make sense, but it was required for the plot.
Mando needed to be wearing his jet pack in order to fly Grogu to the Jedi platform, but he also needed to not be wearing it when the Darktroopers arrived, otherwise, he could have just flown after them. So, they needed some reason for him to take it off -- and they chose the parlay with Boba as the reason.
That was so frustrating! I feel like they could have done better. He controls the thing remotely...
I guess he just isn’t good at thinking quickly in high pressure situations...
Another terrific episode, and a great performance from Bill Burr. The line about TPS reports made me laugh.
This is just such an enjoyable series.
I liked his character a lot more this episode than the last time we saw him. I found the first time they tried a little too hard with his character (like that bad Gungan joke).
Will all this be the end of Star Wars theatrical releases. This format is way more satisfying to me than a 2 hour movie every couple years. The production quality is at least on par with the movies now. These look amazing in 4k on an OLED with a good sound set up.
I'd be sad at the death of the movie theater, but if I'm watching at home, I'd take this format of 10 episode seasons to develop characters and tell a good story any day.
Loved the episode, They've done an amazing job this year, and part of that does go to a really stellar cast as well as stellar guest stars.
Loved the Boba Fett cleaned up armor.
Finally saw how the inside of Slave 1 works with the outer shell rotating around the inner decks.
Great action scenes throughout.
When I saw the Stormtroopers cheering and saluting. And then Mayfield who had been traumatized by the loss of him men in Operation Cinder that there are a lot more shades of Grey in the GFFA then even George envisioned.
That message to Gideon sent chills.
I fall in love with Cara everytime she's in an episode. I think she's been great in this series.
Can never get enough of Ming-Na, first Agents of Shield and now this.
I still expect the rescue mission to fail badly next week with no way that they get the Child back. On top of it, I have to wonder if the Jedi that shows up is Cal Kestis.

I may have missed something, but why did the Imperial console accept Mando’s face? I can’t even login to my Mom’s phone using my own face.
I'm guessing its just recording a face to attach to a data inquiry in case ISB wants to know who's using the computer, but its not like a retinal scan password.

I could also see it coming back story wise down the road.

There is a movie coming out in 2023...Rouge Squadrons
Man, those seismic charges! I knew those right away - cool callback. One of the best things to test your sound system back in the day.
That + Kimono is probably the best content from AOTC.
Man, the character development in this series is just outstanding. Mando abandons his rule to get a chance to save the kid, showing the extent that their bond has grown. His uncomfortable and somewhat shameful demeanor while helmet-less felt realistic given the situation.
The imperial officer was total scum, he was perfect.
Favreau and Filoni are great storytellers.
Burr's character complements Mando. He should have just joined their crew.
It was great how they had you cheering for the TIE fighters as they swoop in and atomize the pirates (who were probably just concerned natives trying to stop the destruction of their environment). And then as you’re thinking, hey Cap might actually be right that the Empire isn’t so bad, the senior officer reminds you that oh yeah, they’re still space nazis that love them some genocide. A bit of gray area, but not so much that you’re confused about which side you should be on.

The Empire has the worst IT department in the galaxy, hands down. A junky astromech droid like R2 effortlessly hacks their most important installations over and over. They accept expired passwords from stolen shuttles. Snoke’s flagship can be broken into without anyone noticing, even with its shields up. And now we know they use terminals that *might* get you in trouble later, long after you’ve stolen their most valuable secret data and escaped their reach.

Its the shades of grey thing with the Empire for me. Yeah, you had space nazi's, but think about how easy it was to create them.
The Galaxy for years leading up to the switch to the Empire was corrupt, chaotic, the outer rims were enslaved to the core worlds. On top of it, the Republic talked anti-slavery, yet there were slaves all over the galaxy. I'm sure that the view of the senate was pretty low. As well the Jedi these mystical elites living in their palace and jamming their noses into planetary business with light sabre diplomacy.
The Count Dooku comes along and makes a speech that's basically, I was a jedi, but couldn't be anymore because they support a corrupt decaying Republic that is all about the core worlds living on the backs of the rim worlds. We offer a better way.
This leads to the Clone wars. We see mass genocides on worlds caused by both sides. We see the military industrial complex massively profiting. Probably a bunch of war taxes come in. We see a lot of aliens and droids on one side, against a largely human military on the other side. Chaos reigns, its pretty much the history of democracy in a huge galaxy.
Then you see the Jedi betraying the supreme chancellor in the republic in a move that looks like they want to seize power for themselves.
So Palpatine, the kindly looking senator is scared in an attack and he brings in a new order, he promises order and peace and one galaxy under one rule of law. Of course that's seductive. It was probably really easy to recruit people into the Imperial Military and government, because when give then choice of a full belly, or a vote, its pretty easy to decide.
Then we see the collapse of the Empire, overthrown by a rebellion that then fails to win the peace, and the galaxy devolves back into slavery and poverty, and crime lords taking over.
Yeah, you can see how zealots would be willing to do anything to establish order and believe that people will see the good old days under Stalin errr Palpatine. I mean it happened here with the collapse of the Soviet Union, and longing for the return of a strong leader like Stalin who could feed them and give them marching orders.
Its all shades of grey, Nazi's aren't born, they're made. Imperials weren't born they were made.
The average Stormtrooper or Imperial Pilot probably believes in the concepts of order, peace and security, because they see what the galaxy is like without them. Officers like the one last night are probably more of the extreme minority then the majority.
