I haven’t read through all 40 pages so presumably this topic is covered but why does Nintendo hate making money so much?
This shouldn’t be this difficult to get one of these, it’s ridiculous. What are they making 1 / month?

On the first release, Nintendo only ever planned to make a couple million because they needed something to try and stay relevant in the console space over a Christmas season where the WiiU was discontinued and the Switch had not yet released. They based their expectations of demand on what those Atari Flashback and Sega Flashback units do. Which is to say, passable but not outstanding. Nobody in Nintendo expected the NES Classic to be the hottest toy of that Christmas season. But by then, it was too late. Contracts were done, and production of Switch was ramping up.
They did much better with the SNES Classic - which is still reaching store shelves a year later. And the re-release of the NES has been trivially easy to find.

That's like saying gonorrhea is better than syphilis.
The SNES classic was still horribly under-stocked.

These things are all over the place now. Just saw both of them at Walmart Airdrie yesterday.

They recently (~ a month ago) did a re-release of both models and they're much easier to find.

Try a European Amazon site like amazon.de, some of them will deliver to Canada. That's how I got one.

My NES classic will be arriving tomorrow and fully operational within an hour of its arrival. I'm going to be sick this weekend due to my lack of sleep during the first couple days of non stop NEStalgia gaming.

Yep, you can also add games from other systems
For people looking for controllers if you have the originals you can get cheap adapters on Amazon and won't have to deal with the ridiculously short cables (WTF Nintendo)
I am using original SNES controllers on the NES classic...works well since I also added SNES games so the extra buttons are necessary

I stopped using the controllers immediately and bought some wireless ones.
Even Wal Mart has a good selection of wireless controllers from 8BitDo, Hori and MyArcade
Both were hacked immediately with 100+ games

The wii classic controller works really well. And the best part is the home button, so I don't need to get up to hit the reset button.
