No amount of bombings or air raids will stop ISIS from committing acts of brutality. They may help stop their advance, but they will never be defeated that way. It's a war of ideas, and in a lot of ways, air strikes just feed those ideas.

Honestly, I don't know what the solution is other than total annihilation, which of course goes against modern conventions.

That's what my thought process is too. Although I do feel that the coalition is a good thing and that ISIS should be targeted, i fear that no matter what happens these horrible videos will still be broadcasted and it will be an endless battle.

At what point does the west need to just say to hell with this entire region and just go home? Things are going nowhere. Maybe leaving them to their own devices is what needs to happen. Open our borders to as many legit immigrants from Iraq/Syria/wherever and just in a sense cater to their demands and stay out of their business. I mean this just keeps ramping up. What is the end game? As mentioned you aren't fighting people, you're fighting ideas that don't seem to be going anywhere.

I get it, but a big part of me also says that you can't leave the innocent people in that region to the tender mercies of those monsters.

Personally, I go to each coalition member and say I want at least two groups of special forces operators, then I send them in country with the express mission of exterminating the leaders of ISIS and other groups, and I want the spokes people captured and bought to justice.

I would also arm and train the opposition groups like the Kurds.

Look groups like ISIS are going to hate and lash out no matter what you do. their underlying root cause has more to do with their twisted belief of the world state then anything else. You're not going to have success in de-programming them. So send in JTF-2, the Seals, The Army Rangers, SAS, get the Japanese to release some of thier SFGp. Give them a hunting license with no bag limit so to speak.

Are you kidding, I'd like to find a proper Islamic Court that would try them under their own religions laws, overseen by moderates.

Yeah, you murdered these people in the name of our religion and that's not cool. Under the laws laid out in the Koran, we're taking a limb.

Seriously, set up a Sharia court, have an imam rule on the violence they used in the name of Islam ... stone them to death.

I think you need a coalition of Muslim countries to send boots on the ground and take them out. Sending in western countries just gives them the propaganda of "us vs them."

They just said rather matter-of-factly on CBC news that the Jordanians will soon be executing that woman and some other al Qaeda pricks they have in the slammer.

No screwing around. Apparently the video of that pilot being murdered was shown on TV in Jordan all day and people are, of course, calling for blood. I guess they are going to get it.

What a goddamn mess.

You can set up all the apparatuses in the world for a multi-Muslim country defense or peacekeeping force, but at the end of the day, there is too many historical, tribal and cultural differences between groups to make that it a successful and competent machine.

Personally I want to see the Kurds be given some level of independence, but that is also a far-away pipe dream.

The problem is that religion creates an immense feeling of guilt in indugling in these things. That's part of the MI6 report. Giving them worldly pleasures only doubles their fundamentalism because it's a cycle of sinning and repentance (by being even more fundamental).

The Soviet Union was completely different. That was an atheist culture where people aspired to have nicer things but couldn't because of the economy. It wasn't against their religion to have blue jeans or look at nudies so it was easy to sway the younger generation.

Just sickening.

"New images have emerged appearing to show ISIS militants hurling the man off the seven-storey building in the town of Tal Abyad in Raqqa.

The man, who was supposedly being punished for having a ‘homosexual affair’, apparently survived the fall, but was stoned to death by a waiting crowd at the foot of the tower block."

I lived in 3 Islamic countries including Persia (Iran) and my job took me to every country on the Gulf.Several events influenced my opinion of Islam .The first occurred when I was based in Kenya in 1976.My wife came over from Calgary for a visit and we later flew on Air France to Athens with a 2 hour stop in Entebbe. We were advised in Athens that another Air France flight had been hi-jacked by P.L.O Muslims and had passed us on route to Entebbe.A few days later the Israelis flew 4 Hercules down the Red Sea to Kenya and on to Entebbe where they killed the hijackers and rescued about 90 Israeli captives.Like thousands I was thoroughly impressed.Another fantastic Israeli operation was in 1981 when they flew a squadron of F16 s and F 15 s to the Bhagdad area and destroyed Saadam Husseins nuclear plant. In 1978 we lived in Tehran,Ahwaz and Abadan ,Iran. We had met a group of young Filipino girls who worked in the Abadan Palace hotel where we were staying. One day 20 of these girls went to the Rex Theater and a group of Muslims barricade the doors and torched the place.Over 400 people were burned to death. On Dec.23 /78 a man named Paul Grimm was assassinated on his way to work by 4 Muslims .He was the Vice President of my company and a wonderful man. This occurred in Ahwaz. On Dec 25 We flew his widow and several other people to Abadan and later Mrs. Grimm got to Bahrain on a charter,as there were no scheduled air service after Dec.1 My wife and kids made it out of Abadan on Dec 1 on the last commercial flight. To me ,Islam is an ideology, religion, and a way of life dictated by the Koran and Sharia law .They practise thought control and brain washing and Muslims must be subserviant or considered heretic or apostate. there are thousands of madrassas teaching young Muslim males nothing but hate.No sciences or languages, just hate. After 2 bombings of theTowers in N.Y. ,the destruction of the U.S embassies in Nairobi and Dar Es Saalam the Khobar towers the U.S.S Cole I say let the Israelis get the Enola Gay out of the Smithsonian, load it with Fat Men bombs and let them pick their targets.
