Are we sure Abby is affiliated with the Flames right now...... Awesome work for 9 games in a row! Sure didn't expect this from a bunch of 1st/2nd year pros. Ward has done a good job with these guys.

Re: Breen
I'm not attempting to compare Brodie and Breen them directly.
Also for Chara, 17 points in 70 games is significantly more than 28 in 200.
I was simply saying, with Brodie, you can see his upside, with Breen, I don't know what he would bring to the table that would make him worth the roster spot. He's still young. I like him at the AHL level. He should captain the Heat, but He's not likely to be an NHLer.
I'm not saying ship Breen off, but I think there are other guys that have that intangible thing to bring to the NHL that Breen doesn't. Size at his height is a detriment unless he can carve a niche, whether that be PK or checking or something like that.
Maybe he went leaps and bounds this summer, but up until this season started, I didn't see anything call up worthy other than sheer size.
Re: weird comment I made about the call back goal.. I was obviously doing too many things at once, as I was WAY off base and called them the Kings. big oops.
Re: Heat in general.
I couldn't listen to the third, but I thought, hey! They have strong third periods, maybe they'll get it back. And voila! Nice to score 5 on Brys!
The Heat had a hot streak like this a few Novembers ago, with John Rheault leading the way. Only difference this time is for every player who's streak fades, we've got another guy streaking right behind him. What a breakout month for Ferland! So stoked for this team and how 8 rookies have bought into the Ward/Flames system and created a mark in the pro world.
I fear heavily for the travel... How can they possibly keep this up!?

We will see how much hype they can collect on this big road trip, but the numbers seem pretty static. and bad.

So I didn't inhale any funny stuff at the concert and was reading the update right on my phone?
Wow...just wow. I've been a Flames fan for a LONG time and always followed their affiliates and I can't remember anything like this. This is amazing. Whatever this "magical" combination/system/whatever it is, they need to bottle it and feed it to the Flames.

Holy crapola!
Can we switch rosters? Please? Also lovin' that Ortio out-duels Bryz in his debut. These kids are awesome. Now make it 10.

Watching the highlights, it seems that not only are the Heat creating lots of chances but they are acting like a family. It seems they really stick up for each other, and lots of players are willing to drop the gloves for one another. It seems they have a good overall team morale and chemistry. Cheers to 9 in a row and hope we can make it 10 tonight!!

Ward is still playing non-prospects (Olson, Street, Jones, etc) way more than any other players on the team.

And if that's what creates the winning environment, he should.
He's not doing it at the expense of development. How do you propose he develop a culture of earning ice time if it's predetermined on age?

Oh, they are not prospects? Really? They may not be the highly touted ones, but I don't see what makes them not prospects. These aren't 30 year old vets that Ward is leaning on.
If Ward needs these guys to do some heavy lifting (even if YOU feel they aren't prospects), then that's ok. Are our prospects not being developed? Maybe you don't respect the game at the AHL level, and think young picks (who aren't even high 1st round bluechippers) should be thrown on the top lines right away down there.
Ward is doing a FANTASTIC job, but your blind hatred is just ridiculous. Flames' prospects are put into a wonderful situation to succeed, and are EXCEEDING expectations, and you are still crapping on Ward? Hilarious!!

They are 26 (soon to be 27), 27, and 26 (soon to be 27), respectively. They are not prospects.
We also know that Hartley hates Jones so any success he has will have no impact on the NHL team.
