well hell. It was good while it lasted.
I think Jake Ballard will slip into AHs spot in the lineup. Hopefully his knee issues are behind him.
From Pats:
The New England Patriots have released Aaron Hernandez. The Patriots’ released the following statement on their website: “A young man was murdered last week and we extend our sympathies to the family and friends who mourn his loss. Words cannot express the disappointment we feel knowing that one of our players was arrested as a result of this investigation. We realize that law enforcement investigations into this matter are ongoing. We support their efforts and respect the process. At this time, we believe this transaction is simply the right thing to do.”

Obstruction of justice in a murder investigation is more than enough in my mind. Don't want that kind of person as a teammate or as a fan.

Hernandez has indeed been charged with murder. Throwing away a career and millions to keep it real....

A former Temple University All-American running back who helped lead the Baltimore Ravens to a Super Bowl title now finds himself a victim of crime, according to CBS 3 sources.
Those sources confirm that Bernard Pierce was robbed at gunpoint Sunday evening along the 7500 block of Haverford Avenue. His BMW was also stolen.
The car was later recovered and processed at the police garage for possible clues.
Pierce and a male companion, sources say, were shaken but were not injured during the robbery. Sources say a gunman jumped from a car while his accomplice remained behind the wheel and robbed Pierce and his companion, then stole the vehicle.

Before a capacity crowd at Attleboro District Court that included the family of Odin Lloyd, former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was arraigned on a charge of murder, and five assorted counts of firearm possession.
Hernandez pleaded not guilty to all counts.
Prosecutors detailed Lloyd's multiple gunshot wounds, and keys to a vehicle belonging to Hernandez were found on Lloyd. Lloyd had all his possessions, so robbery was not the motive. Five shells from a semi-automatic weapon were recovered.
A warrant was issued to recover surveillance footage from the 14 cameras in and around Hernandez's house, but police discovered that 6-8 hours of footage, from around the time of the murder, was missing. They were able to discover text messages from Hernandez to the victim and the two other suspects on the night of the murder.
The prosecutor said authorities have tape of Hernandez, with a firearm, saying "You can't trust anyone anymore" before driving to pick up Lloyd.
The group stopped at a gas station to pick up "blue cotton candy Bubblicious gum and Black and Mild cigars, which are used as rolling papers for marijuana."
Herandez was represented by Michael Fee and Jamie Sultan, the latter consistently ranked as one of the country's top trial lawyers.

Hernandez needs to get in touch with legal teams of Ray Lewis/Casey Anthony/Robert Blake/OJ on tips for skating on an obvious charge. At best for Hernandez he ordered his boys to do the deed, but it sounds like he did this one himself.

What a ####ing moron. Obviously whatever he learned in University, if anything, did nothing to reverse the street creed he was raised on. Toss the book at him, throw him in the clink and lose the key.
So many that would have loved to be in his professional shoes earning the coin he made...only to let a temper and obvious low IQ get in the way. Im amazed he could figure out a playbook.

If the hard drives and video cameras are broke, the charges must be a joke.

The funny thing about this clown is he apparently shot some other guy in the face a month or so ago- difference there is the guy supposedly refused to cooperate with police and instead took hernandez to civil court.
Either way, what a donkey. Nothing more annoying in this world than punk thugs

What a piece of trash Hernandez is. It's unfortunate because he had it all. Young guy in his early 20's, multi-millionaire, a good player........and he throws it all away. I hope he rots in jail. No forgiveness at all for murderers and it's clear he did it. Complete loser.

To be clear: DA's saying #hernandez shot Lloyd three times right after Lloyd got out of the car. Then stood over him & put two in his chest.

If true that is pretty cold blooded.

As I've seen pointed out a few places, but Hernandez's accomplices are nowhere to be found at the moment. Which means they're laming it or they flipped on Hernandez. Should be interesting to see when they pop up again.

I'd say they've flipped. While the initial statements by five oh are pretty damning, this feels similar to the Lewis situation and he walked after due process. This'll be interesting. You would think that the prosecution has him in obstruction at the [I]very[I] least given the destruction of the security video.

I just read the minute by minute text that led to Odin's murder, unless some of the accomplice flipped, I can't see how the police can prove that AH did the deed. The evidence is conclusive enough to me that one of the few people inside the rental Altimate did the deed but can't prove who or if it was AH that did it.
