I'm really glad they modified the appearance of the Cantos building. The original look of the winning bid was not nice imo.
The NMC (i.e. Cantos) has really developed into what looks to be a stellar project. Like you, I wasn't crazy about it at first, but with every new version, it just seems to get better and better.
I would be very surprised to see those terraced condos built. Seems an extremely expensive building to pour the concrete for with so little sq footage.

The project is called Riverhouse and I believe units will start at $1M.

Do you know who the local developer is building the EV apartments or what the projects name is?

Not sure, just mentioned a local developer in the Herald and mentioned apartments and it made it sound like that was the only apartment (no condo) development.

Wow, I know it's a smaller building, but only 12 residences in one building probably means those will probably be some pretty amazing homes.
I would imagine the $1 million dollar starting price is a lot less than what the majority of them go for, otherwise there's not a ton of money to be made there.
I'm guessing the $1M one is for the 1,500 sqft one on the 2nd floor. They must have some pretty big rooms, because even the biggest one (over 3500 sqft) only have 2 bedrooms.
The historic downtown Bank of Montreal building, which sat vacant for more than 10 years, is springing back to life and will be the future home of GoodLife Fitness.
Only ever knew it as the A&B sound, the space was also so big and open but loved when I found out about the almost hidden third floor where the Country was, got some good Johnny Cash cd's there.
It's a beautiful building, but it's had some structural issues (I think), hence the lack of tenants. I think it would have made a pretty good conference center.
The house at 933 5th Avenue S.W. hails from when downtown living in Calgary didn’t mean a shoebox condo and a thumbprint balcony.
Stand-alone houses ringed the sandstone James Short School on Centre Street, and McDougall School on 6th Street.
Over decades and successive oil booms, the Great March of Progress laid waste to several of the old Edwardians and Craftsman homes in favour of apartment blocks and office towers.
As everything else in the core was knocked down and craned up, the brown shingled bungalow at 5th Avenue and 9th Street endured. Defying the odds and real-estate economics, 933 hosted BBQ dinners and kitchen table birthday cakes and front-yard election signs, right up until a year and a half ago.
