This weekend the Cardinals were some kind of awful.

I'm glad the Cards suck, we needed those wins.

What did I hear on the radio broadcast today? Something like the 3 IBB's issued, in the series, to the Jays ending up leading to 10 Blue Jay runs. That is something you don't see happen very often.

Patterson is DHing?
I liked Eckstein there better - why not play Arencibia at DH? (Molina is catching)

Cecil recalled, Stewart demoted.

I would've liked to see Stewart get some more starts, but mainly because I don't think Villanueva should be in our rotation.

Villanueva has the 2nd most wins on the team, this fellow absolutely should be in the starting pitching rotation as they seem to win every time he is out there.

...You seriously just used wins as your argument for him being in the rotation?

I wasn't saying he was doing a bad job. Simply that he is not a starting pitcher. He has failed as a starter his entire career. Of course, I still prefer him over Reyes.

He is giving the Jays quality "starts" and they are winning there is zero chance he is pulled from the rotation.

He pitched 60 innings last year. They won't keep him in the rotation all year due to their innings philosophy (which I personally don't fully agree with - you'd think pitch counts matter more).

Jays' Top 10 minor-league prospects

Very flattering analysis by unnamed scouts. Still, you can't help but look forward to what's coming up the ladder for the Blue Jays.

Quote:
3. Centre fielder Anthony Gose, 20, N.H.
“Some say he’s like Brett Butler, who slapped base hits and stole for Cleveland. For me he’s closer to another Devon White when it comes to having pop. His arm is better than Jesse Barfield’s, as good as Ellis Valentine. He’s been working with (coach) Rich Miller and you can see an improvement cutting down on caught stealings.”
4. Shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria, 22, N.H.
“This guy has the best range in the minors. If they keep Yunel Escobar at short, fine. Flip this guy to second. He’ll make people forget Aaron Hill in the field in about three games. If they move Escobar to third, this guy is the real deal, some kind of athlete.”

Really great to see Thames get his first HR. Love the energy that he's brought every time he's been in the lineup.

Range is great, but if you can't hit it doesn't matter http://www.baseball-reference.com/mi...d=hechav001ade. Not saying it can't improve, but the only reason this is so flattering is these scouting reports are completely ignoring the weaknesses of these players.

Honestly (I'm not even kidding), at the end of the year MLB looks at teams total wins (which come from pitchers wins) and place teams in order of most wins and they're awarded a playoff spot to play for a championship.

Not a cheapie either, look liked a slider away taken to center-opposite field.

For instance:
Zimmerman tonight in Washington; complete game with one walk, four hits, and no earned runs - but his loss means that Capuano's win in New York was more valuable with his 3HRs against in five innings.

The statistics clearly show that Capuano is helping his team more than Zimmerman. I feel your pain Cheif (I'm not even kidding), so many rubes just don't understand rudimentary baseball concepts as well as you do.

Which one of you said you would rather have EE than Young? How is that working out so far?

Guilty.

I'd still rather spend that money in the draft though.
