If you can’t get a 1st plus for Ferland you don’t even think about trading him.

Ferland for a 2nd Round Pick (He's a 20 goal scorer right now and can play a rugged, hard hitting style of play which definitely helps in the playoffs. Kane currently also has 20 goals and Sabres want a 1st + more for him, and Ryan freakin Reeves was traded for a 1st round pick lol, so Ferland can definitely be traded for a second)
Frolik for a 3rd + decent prospect
Versteeg for a 4th Round Pick
Stajan for a 6th Round Pick
Brouwer for a 6th or 7th Round Pick (We retain $1 million in salary for the next 2 years)

Fair or no?

Then we go hard after Tavares in the off season, and PERHAPS Kane if the price and term are right (around $6 mill x 5 years). As well and trying to trade for Stone using some of these replenished picks + picks we currently have + prospects

Please give your head a shake...

you’re over valuing picks over actual players. Get in the playoffs, and you never know how things will go, especially if your goalie gets hot at the right time

Keep Frolik and Stone for now and we can get more for them anyways, and I’m fine with trading Versteeg if someone steps up to help secondary scoring. I’d be fine with trading Brouwer and Stajan but who wouldn’t

Added Stone in there as I originally forgot. But honestly guys, we're a mediocre team, this line-up is NOT good enough to "make noise" in the playoffs. We literally will lose in 4-5 games. We're incredibly inconsistent. I think we need to stop being so biased and understand and accept that lol. If we can get more for those players, then by all means, get more (such as for Ferland and Frolik, even though Frolik has not been good this season). Plus we're paying Frolik $4.3 mill, that can be used towards Kane or Stone for next season, both of which can make our team better.

This line-up needs a shake-up heading into next season, with the players stated above going (not our core players). We can completely revamp our bottom 6 which is currently and OBVIOUSLY not good enough through Free Agency and bringing up some prospects, and add to our top 6 on the right side. Bring up one or two of our d-prospects next season and we'll have a MUCH better team. Plus if we SOMEHOW manage to get Tavares, then ohhhh man lol.

No team is going to give you anything for a guy who had hip surgery with no firm timeline for return

CP community sets them up, and Wild GM knocks them down.

What can we get for Jagr's NHL rights?

Can we please armchair GM without inexplicably adding Karlsson or Tavares to this team?

Lol some people here will think we're not getting enough, some will say these scenarios are over-valuing the players and we should get less.

These are just some names I thought of that I believe need to go for us to be a better team, save cap space money to be used towards better players, and to replenish draft picks.

As well, teams are known to over-pay at the deadline, that's a known fact.

Just trying to be realistic. I find it funny that people will say our 4th line is a disaster yet turn around and suggest the Flames should sell Stajan

When has a team overpaid for an injured guy at the deadline?
The answer sadly is Modin but that was still just a 7th

If Reaves got a 1st, then Ferland can get more. Frolik can get even more and Brouwer isn't good but he's worth way more than a 6th or 7th or both. Stajan and Versteeg are probably close. You could probably get a 2nd for Stone or maybe a better prospect.

Fair? Only fair if you want to see the Flames fail this year and the next couple of years.

This team is way to soft to be trading away Ferly. I bet he would look great on a contender. Ferly is not the problem it's the high priced Vets that need to earn their pay checks. Remember before Ferly was put on the top line Johnny had a target on his back. Ferly put a stop to those cheap shots. No one else stuck up for him, Not even Sean Frickin Monahan lol

Reeves didn’t go for a first. He got traded in exchange to move up 20 spots in the draft. Pens traded pick #31 to Blues for Reaves and pick #51

Not sure if we'd get a first for Ferland. Might need to add Poirier as a sweetener.

Ferland's value is arguably at his highest now though. Treliving had to bail on the Bouma contract after a 20 goal season. I'd sell high with this player.
