Started playing The First Berserker - Khazan yesterday. Really fun first couple hours, really excited to put a bunch of time into it this weekend. Would recommend it to anyone who enjoys soulslikes.

This really should go down as a bigger deal. Tsushima essentially ruined every sword game in existence and a half decade later nobody has come close to it.

Tsushima was great, don't get me wrong, but I completely fell in love with Sekiro after the combat clicked. AAA gameplay right there but hard as nails.

Do you love grinding? Leveling up weapon after weapon, learning new skills, and leaving thousands of dead footsoldiers in your wake? Becoming a god?

You do? Then Dynasty Warriors Origins is for you! It's the best.

Yeah I don't see how anyone could say that the sword combat in GOT is better than Sekiro or Ninja Gaiden Black which are the gold standard for sword games.

I might actually like AC Shadows better than Ghost tbh. It’s more fun, feels “bigger,” and even the grinding parts feel less like a slog. They both have elements they shine in though.

At this point I actually can’t see any real reason why someone would like one but not the other. If you liked Ghost, you’ll like Shadows and vice versa. If you hated one, you’ll probably hate the other.

<--- stuck in the sword combat in KCD2

I didn't play 1 so the combat was kind of interesting for the first little bit but once I learned how to master strike it's all kind of trivial.

Which is fine I'm not playing for the combat, there's so many interesting quests.

I was on a wagon helping escort some ladies to new jobs at a bathhouse (i.e. prostitutes) and one of them asked me if I was a t**s or a** man! Lol!

My biggest gripe with KCD2 is how trivial combat becomes after the first half of the game. It became insanely easy to kill some bandits, sell their gear, save and buy all the best gear. Once I realized there weren't any other upgrades I could aim for, I lost interest.

It is a great game though, those first 30-40 hours were incredible, as immersed I've been in a game in some time (also did not play KCD1).

Experiencing KCD2 voice acting and then going to AC Shadows is super jarring lol.

As with you I never played the first game and as you say the first 30+ hours are incredible but it's also petering out for me as well. This game has to have the worst difficulty scaling I can remember. It starts off very difficult and at the halfway mark becomes trivial. You don't even need to use the master strike as you can win nearly all combat by positioning your sword high and then quickly dropping to a low jab, repeat, repeat. Everything from thieving to dice becomes so easy that I stopped doing the side quests out of boredom and just remained on the main quest to get to the end. It's still a very good experience as the storytelling is next level, but it's ultimately let down by poor balancing.

It's also a multiplayer only game from what it sounds like.

If it's multiplayer then Nintendo can have it.

Someone once said to me that Super Smash Bros was the only reason to have friends, which I still think is hilarious 20 years later.

I am late to the game but I just picked up Baldurs Gate 3 since it was on sale and it is great. Feels like I am in a D&D game and has a pretty good story so far. Already looking forward to restarting the story and choosing different paths
