It's gotta be Stone at this point in time. Baertschi is what netted us Andersson and we have developed him remarkably well ~ it would be a large oversight right now to trade him IMO; he reminds me of Dougie Hamilton when I see him play and I feel he has top 3 D potential.

Wills says that while Treliving was travelling with the team on the road trip, he wasn't at the game last night.
Thinks that means Treliving is working the phones hard, FWIW.

Burke should always have a baby with him. No explanation, just always this baby on him.

Hey Burkie, where'd you get that baby?
"None of your g## d##n business where I got this baby."
Kid is just hanging there, tie draped over its head.

I hope the Flames either get an impact top 6 forward or stay pat and sell. Worst case scenario, IMO, is getting a Smith/Pageau type player. We have enough players that can't score.
My ideal scenario though, would be to sell off some pieces (Ferland, Stone/Brodie...) to try and recoup some picks. Let's not kid ourselves, we're not going to do anything this year, even if we make the playoffs. We're out in the 1st round, IMO.
In the offseason, fire the entire coaching staff (most notably GG and Cameron). Hire one of Sutter/Tippett or preferrably JQ or AV if they become available. Dangle one of our D prospects (add if necessary) for a top 6 winger.
One can dream.

Don't think I would trade Brodie at deadline. Think his value is just as high at draft. I would entertain Ferland and stone though. Especially Ferland, I think his value is a lot higher at deadline than off season. I still wish they had waited on Backlund signing.

I love how some posters think they can see the future when it comes to the playoffs and think we should sell. Imagine if Nashville had taken that stance last year, what Stanley Cup final? Or a better example is the LA King's who snuck in and won the SC. Really tired of reading the fairweather fans who when the going gets tough they would rather take their bat and go home.

Lol. LA and Nashville were playing great going into playoffs. There is nothing from this season that tells me the flames could win a 7 game series. Only if Smith stands in his head can I see them winning in first round.
And don't ever call me a "fair weather fan". I was in the corral for the flames first season and have never stopped cheering since.

So you really think that this version of the Flames can actually do damage in the playoffs? This version of the team that plays slow, cannot score past the 1st line, has terrible PP, often comes unmotivated and unprepared, cannot hold down a lead....can beat the likes of Jets, Ducks, Nashville, Kings, Vegas in a seven game series?
I suppose they can, never say never as they say. But that's more in the domain of wishful thinking and hoping than it is realistic. For once, I'd like the team to actually be a legitimate threat, to contend for division titles, to be atop the West. I've had enough of mediocrity and being satisfied of just getting in the playoffs and hoping for the best.
As for your Nashville comparison, it's not valid at all as you forgot that they actually did a retool with the Subban and Johanssen trades.
