^ Ya, but the Oilers were able to scoop up Jeff Skinner and his 12 points and -11 in 36GP. So it was all worth it.

Quarter Century All No-Good team

Yakupov - Schremp - Skinner
Bergeron - Ceci
Salo

Second team? I guess Conklin is in there... others?

I think blue chip #4 overall Puljujarvi gets on ahead of Skinner.

I also like Justin Shultz ahead of Bergeron. Shultz was paraded into town as an upcoming superstar and then spectacularly crashed and burned in Edmonton. After leaving Edmonton, he had several good seasons. I don't think anyone starred in as many "this guy scored" videos as Shultz.

Nurse is a good choice with his nightly blunders and massive contract.

I'm good with Yakapov and Schremp.

For goalie, I like Scrivens. When I think of a jersey toss, I think of him scooping it up with his stick and sending it back over the boards.

Staples gnashing teeth about Hyman “58 goals” being sent to the 3rd line. “Fine for now…but not long term.”

Bogdan yakimov. 3rd round pick who signed a 3 year contract.

1 game. 0-0-0. “Highly touted”.

Sure, the goal is given up but the defensive effort to skate back is there. Not used to see that kind of effort in this thread at all.

I agree. His play, plus the cap hit that keep forcing them to lose players. Just a chef kiss for his contributions to the no goods.

My favorite Oilers from 2000 on:

Holloway-Cogliano-Foegele
Petry-Schultz
Dubnyk

Pajaarvi-Yakupov-Puljujarvi
Reinhart-Nurse
Campbell

Zack Stortini should get some sort of honorable mention. He played 256 of his 257 games in the NHL in Edmonton. Probably plays a fraction of that for any other NHL team. Has any NHL pension because of the Oilers.

...

The post is about the guy who scored the goal: Warren Foegle. The guy the Oilers let walk for nothing, for no reason whatsoever.

Oh sure, I get that. Effort on Defense was just something that you don't see much on the No Good team.

I stayed there for a conference in October and those elevators are terrible. I also noticed they still had a display up from the 2023 Heritage Classic in the lobby... NG

Stay at the airport hotel, then you can leave at a moment’s notice if need be.

There was no way they were resigning Foegle, because Foegle wanted out. Guys will take less money and/or less minutes if they think there is a chance to win. He came to understand instead that Edmonton is no good

Great advice especially as the airport is halfway to red deer and red deer is halfway to Calgary.
