So proud of the team. I was a doubter in personnel and coaching decisions. But they pulled it together when it mattered.
Oh, and Sidney Crosby? Yup, best in the sport. AO was as clutch as Thornton this tournament.

What a game!!!!!!!!! The going from winning to the tie in the last minute to the thrill of an OT win.
I was waiting for the kid to do something. He had a poor last few games and blew that chance on the breakaway in the 3rd that would have iced the game......and then he shows up and wins it! I'm happy for ever single member of the team. Luongo proved that he can win the big game. He made some awesome saves today.
YEAH CANADA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS.............Ryan Miller was well deserving of tournament MVP. A remarkable tournament for him. Only players I don't like on USA are Kesler and Kane so to everyone else congrats on Silver.

Not really surprising.
I figured it would come down to him and Getzlaf, those two guys really came through in these last few elimination games.

That was a hellova shot by Crosby, with a hellova play by Iginla.

Yeah it only takes a split-second. He was just interviewed and said he went for the poke-check and Crosby was just that little bit faster.

Honestly, if the game ended like 4:1 or 3:0 or something, it would never have gone down as the most prolific gold medal games in Olympic history. This finish is scary but it's the best and the most dramatic.

I think that until now, that this would not have been an embarrassment though a huge dissappointment. We can't just send an all-star team and just expect to win. Our path to the Gold proves it. I really don't get this USA wasn't expected to do anything. They were Top 3 or 4 in many books at worst.

The IIHf has voted Miller best Goaltender, Refalski best defenseman and Toews best forward.
They are joined on the all star team by Weber, Dmetra and Parise.
Miller is MVP.
Hard to argue with any of those choices.

Agree, I think Miller didn't expect an almost broken play (the puck hit the referee) and Iggy's pass, plus the quick release. Every move in hindsight seems unreal.

Yeah, maybe disappointment is a better word. Either way, TSN would have dissected the loss and the tournament in general for a week.

Miller said that he was trying to play Crosby aggressively, but Crosby "got his head up" sooner than he expected. He didn't add anything else.

I watched the replay to see if Iggy's pass was just a case of him throwing it in the direction of the net and hoping for the best.....nope, you can hear Crosby call for it.....wicked pass.

Didn't Kane get a surprisingly loud cheer during the medal presentation? Or was that just because he was the last one? You may not like Kesler, but he had a great tournament and played another great game today.
