So Gozer, what you're trying to say is that you're Wells #1 Fan.

I was watching the Dodgers broadcast of the Texas - LA game Saturday night. The Dodgers' broadcast crew spent a solid inning and a half ripping Andruw Jones. It was fun.

High leverage is used based off the WPA (Win Probability Added) stat. I'm sure most of us have seen those Probability of Winning numbers on the various online gamecasts you can watch (I know ESPN has it). WPA basically compares the difference in the probability of winning before and after an at-bat. So if you hit a bases loaded, 0 out grand slam in the 9th in a close game, your WPA for that AB is huge. Conversely, if you ground into a double-play, your WPA will be huge...but negative.

High leverage is defined in most places where a single AB can have a huge swing on the probability of winning (both positive and negative). It's basically similar to close-and-late except it factors big ABs earlier in the game into the equation as well.

Wells is 0-4 and closing in on his fifth 0-for night in a row.

It's actually getting entertaining watching Wells' AVG, OBP, OPS, etc., etc. drop on a nightly basis.

holy crap, Rios. What a ######. Bases loaded, 1 out in the 8th. Ball hit to the outfield, easy tag up and run in. He's taking a nap or something, doesn't tag in time and doesn't score to tie the game. Of course, the next batter flies out as well. Dumbass.

Leyva told him to go....tough one for both of them. Don't worry guys, Vernon's up in the bottom of the 9th! Let the hot streak begin......or maybe throw Overbay in there for him. My heart is telling me one thing but my head another.

The Phillies broadcast showed replay after replay of Leyva confusing the crap out of Rios telling him to go then holding him. 3rd base coach job description is pretty straight forward.

That was about 8 million worth of base running right there.

Seriously, how can you not manufacture a run in all these prime chances.

If we'd just ground into double plays instead of popping or striking out, the Jays would be up.

still all on Rios. He's a ballplayer, he knows what needed to be done there. Why bother leading off at all? Ball drops in, you run. Ball is caught, then you run.

Barajas with 3 consecutive pop-outs, twice with the based loaded and once his guys on 1st/2nd.

Rios/Leyva turn a game-tying sac fly into nothing.

It's going to be a tough loss considering we had chances to win in a Romero vs. Hamels start.

Where would the Jays be these last couple years without Downs? sub-.500 for sure.

All those pop-outs were on the infield fly rule too. I'd prefer a win to a loss, but will go in the (ever-growing) should have won column if they lose. 15 runners LOB. Yikes.

Rolen with a base hit here in the 10th to give the Jays the lead.
