That's so insane haha. Cheaper, better, safer to demolish and start fresh.

Probably still being worked on. The main level has a fair amount of detail on the Site Plan sheet. Enough to be able to count toilets, see where the vendors will be and restaurant configurations.
Allegedly more interior renderings are done but not yet released?

I really hope the exterior can be left intact as planned, it looks good.
When funds started getting tight up north for the public library, the materials changed on the outside to corrugated metal and gave it the battleship look.
That said, if it comes down to exterior looks vs interior features for this, I would rather the thing look uglier on the outside rather than sacrifice design, facilities, or functionality on the inside.
Sounds like the arena up north had to cut some interior design cues inside in numerous spots, which made various spaces looked disjointed and unfinished and cheap (nevermind the Staples bathroom situation).

I think it's a Club section like the Sportsnet Club in Edmonton.

Hope they do something about the big shadow that gets casted on the flames logo on center ice. Bad Feng Shui, as soon as that big Jumbotron got put up it always left a strange dark shadow on top during start of game.

If the new arena is anything like Little Caesars, people in Calgary will be over the moon. That’s a beautiful arena

I'm not a big 'Statues' kind of guy, but if there are guys in Calgary who have earned it? Its them. I'd be for that.

Maybe a noob question from someone overseas who's never been to NHL game but I'm curious and don't see it discussed or documented anywhere... Can someone explain or provide an educated guess on why the upper bowl is "broken up" on one side? Also, assuming it's the side where stage would be located during concerts, I'm wondering if it can be somewhat related or if it's just planned for additional premium suites.
That said, capacity wise, 18,400 is perfectly fine (especially when compared to some more recent 17k arenas in New York and Vegas), it's just the empty space seems to be too big for my taste. I guess it may be matter of personal preferences but for me, aesthetically, it's a minor glitch in an otherwise perfect design.

That's horrible for the wrong reasons. The Ricky Ray CFL HOF statue is the best. It's high quality but still looks like an Engineer from Prometheus.

At Rogers that end of the rink has different premium seating in that tier. There are theater boxes, then on top of that a few different lounge type-seating options that are sold for a premium and include food. Like it or not ,much of the design is around different premium seat options,

It could be a pre-game hype area like in Las Vegas where they have a celebrity crank the siren. Then a DJ or entertainment area like the red corner is now at the saddledome.

Could be a one game rental super suite like they they currently have in the corner, for hoisting events with ~ 40 people. Could be the broadcast booth, although I doubt it at the end of the ice. As said, could be the game MC/intermission concert.... area.
In reality you probably aren't loosing much seating, generally the limitation on seating is from center to outside wall, not floor to ceiling. There will be the same number of seats, just higher up.
