last year the A's started the season pitching Fujinami every Saturday. Literally the same day of the week. It didn't work out and he ended up in the bullpen and then got traded to the Orioles.
The Mariners also had a six man rotation when Kikuchi was there.

There’s a lot of smoke…or at least a lot of people reporting smoke. Hopefully it’s not people reporting on each other’s reports of smoke.
Based on how Shohei has done the negotiations, I expected the news to leaked to a source to get the message out in the least flashy way possible (ie the opposite of how LeBron did it). This may have been it.

I can honestly say that I am gobsmacked that this is even a possibility. Ohtani to the Jays was a laughable pipe dream coming into the off season.
Kudos to the entire organization for putting together a compelling case - regardless of how this all turns out…they clearly made a hell of an impression.

I've haven't been this excited about sports since 2004 and I am a pretty big Flames/Jays/Cowboys fan. Please don't be a massive let down, I'm too emotionally invested now!
Side note, if this actually goes down and the rumors are true that Roger's is using their NHL money to make this deal happen...talk about a win-win! We get Ohtani (maybe even Yama?) AND we get no more Roger's hockey telecasts? The free space in my pants is rapidly shrinking....

as a fellow Flames/Jays/Cowboys fan, we’ve taken our fair share of lumps over the past 30-40 years. I’ve got plenty of emotional scars from some pretty devastating defeats. This might make it all ok.

Yes I believe that is the case, and I don't mind that. Rick is the cream of the crop as far as I'm concerned. He makes up for the rest, on a regional level at least.
