Ew. LeBrun postulating a fit with Hanifin in FLA? There's not a whole lot I want put of FLA.

Maybe Bennett, Denisenko, Lundell, Reinhart? Maybe? Just a big old pile of meh.

The Bruins arent a great trading partner. They have little to no cap (If I recall they have a bunch of performance bonus' being added to next season) and need to fill a bunch of roster spots with under 5 million to do it.

Hall has had some injury issues, costs 6 mill a year, and has a NMC (so it's his call anyways). Bergeron is probably gone, Krecji is gone, Bertuzzi is probably gone, not sure about Hathaway.

Any prospects they have that are remotely good will need to stay with the team so they can even ice a team.

Why wouldn't we just let them buy him out and pick him up for cap space instead? Do we want Montreal's first?

I would do Hanifin for Reinhart in a heartbeat. Would be a perfect replacement for Backlund (and not too far off replacing Lindholm). Issue could be would he want to be here as he's ufa after this season too.

Derek wills on flames talk is clearly 100 percent against a rebuild, the guy will rebut every logical argument for a rebuilt with " but, yeah they could do this instead", guy must be so concerned that no one will listen to his broadcasts anymore if the team rebuilds

If we took back Mike Reilly (who they might buy out), makes any deal with Boston more feasible. Of course, we aren’t taking money back as a favour so would have to be a substantial return (lysell) coming back.

I don't think trades for other players is going to work, the team will have just way to many chemistry and player turnover issues, not to mention Calgary is probably not going to be getting a player of equal value back

Lundell or bust. Why would Reinhart extend with us? Good player but you go from the frypan into the fire if you get Reinhart back. Deals have to involve cost controlled players, not pending ufas

If the trading partner for Hanifin is Florida, I have very serious doubts about the direction of this franchise. No 1st round pick for the next 1000 years.

Lundell would be who the Flames should target but I could definitely see a scenario where they go after Reinhart to replace Toffoli but then we have another pending UFA on our hands.

I'd take Lundell for Hanifin easily.

I don’t know if we can expect the Flames to make 4 futures based trades with these guys who won’t extend. If they do move all 4 I think 1-2 could be in more of a hockey trade to get players who will make an immediate impact and other deals will be made to add picks and futures.

Lundell and Duclair for Hanifin and Ruzicka.

I doubt we would get that kind of value but I guess you never know.

I just hope these moves happen quickly so I can stop checking this thread and reading terrible trade proposals.

Think we can do something around Hanifin for 8th overall from Washington? Their D looks weak. They could probably use Toffoli as well.

Yeah, I am hoping Lindholm doesn't re-sign otherwise I think we see re-tool trades. Florida is bascially all in. Lundell is a someone they can spare if they think Hanifin makes them more competitive.

The Lundell talk should be put to bed, he is on an ELC and Hanifin is looking for 8 million or so, it just doesn't work cap wise at all.

I can see Reinhart or Duclair being moved but that's about it. After the finals Zito talked about being very careful to not mess with the room after the experience they just had and because it's so tight but one of the upcoming UFAs probably has to go due to cap (I'd imagine it being Reinhart).

I don't see Florida as a good trading partner for the Flames at all, unless Conroy is super in love with someone like Duclair and thinks he could get Huby going.
