Full marks to the Jets, but I still think Rinne is done in Nashville.

I'm wondering how much this team was affected by injury. Ellis' skating was relatively poor

Nashville totally dominated the CORSI Stats

They were a lot better Corsi wise than Game 6 where they were dominated by the Jets and somehow got away with their 4-0 win.

Good CORSI closely correlates to bad results when playing good teams that can play shut down hockey.

Same issue the Flames had in Game 4 last year. Goalie has been letting in softies all series long, Rinnie had a extremely short leash due to it being a elimination game. He game up two stinkers of a goal.

Team loses all confidence after those goals and you need a sparkplug.

I’ve only been able to watched the condensed versions of the games, I didn’t really notice a lot of softies from Rinne, but maybe I wasn’t watching closely enough. I do remember some big saves that probably would have been goals on most other tenders.

The pull and replace at the break is not common, but it’s not exactly unheard of. I certainly don’t think it’s bizarre. Especially when you have one of the most consistent #1s of the past decade or so. I don’t see it as any different than giving any other player a few shiftable off to recalculate after a bad start.
