The pitch is a disaster at Newcastle. I guess they don't have very good drainage.

Just awful stuff. This game looks like some men's games I've played.

I just dont understand what LVG is doing
Rooney isn't a 9, he hasn't been effective as one in 3 years, he might not be effective at all anymore
their best spell this season had Martial up top, why not go back to that

you don't understand. It's the philosophy. Or the process. Definitely one of the two.

Also didnt United turn down Mourinho when Fergie left because he had the type of attitude that could damage the brand
that hasn't changed.......

yeah, at least Bobby Charlton has always been heavily opposed to the idea of Mourinho managing United. Don't know if the board still thinks so too, but I hope so.
really weird situation as a fan right now. I'm sick and tired of van Gaal and want him sacked, but I don't ever want that Mourinho asshat to get the United job either. Ancelotti signing for Bayern and Pep apparently set for City makes me pretty nervous in that regard.

The only manager to win multiple League titles since 2005 besides SAF is Jose. United fans want results. Might he embarrass them a little with his personality? Probably. Will fans give a crap if they're winning? Probably not.

Yeah, its kind of tricky because most of the desirable replacements are off the table and the only one left is Jose.
Thats why I'm pleased Liverpool got Klopp when they did and that Bayern have tied up Ancelotti.

Will be interesting. Surprised to hear LVG say what he did today; talk about taking a blow torch to the gasoline for his own future, never mind given JM's availablity.
JM, through his agency, has said he didn't want a rest, and wanted to right back into managing. But, wasn't going to any high profile matches. So he went to a top of the table Championship match, after lopping off most of his hair as well.
CFC fans busy ripping Cesc, Hazard and Costa during the 3-1 win. As the team got better, the angry chants got louder toward those players as to why the form has now returned.

So I doubt Liverpool fans are going for the pitchforks, but aren't they a little disappointed so far in Klopp? They basically have the same record this year with Rodgers as they do Klopp.

Yeah....thats not gone well.
I'm not going for the pitchforks with Klopp yet because hes making do the best he can with the team that hes got.
One of the things that I think Klopp has to realize though is that in the PL you cant just attack for 90 minutes and hope to keep the other team on their heels unless you have a reliable goalscorer. Which we do not.
And of course Bogdan made a hash of the whole affair.

You can't really judge Klopp until he has had the chance to mould his own team. A huge part of the job is assembling the right players and it is safe to say that Rodgers has made a complete hash of it. And that is what Klopp has to work with right now.

Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and Odion Ighalo have now scored a combined 40 PL goals this season. That's one more than Diego Costa, Wayne Rooney, Eden Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, Pedro, David Silva, Juan Mata, Anthony Martial, Christian Benteke, Wilfried Bony, Willian, Theo Walcott, Roberto Firmino, Radamel Falcao and Daniel Sturridge have combined (39).

From my perspective as a Liverpool fan I wasnt expecting Klopp to come in and 'save the season.' I guess I figured that the season was already shot and the only reason that I'm wrong in that assessment is because everyone else has also sucked.
If one of the clubs had their poop in a group they could easily be running away with the title this season.
That being said, it wasnt just that Rodgers wasnt getting enough out of his players, he wasnt, that group was better than their results showed and Klopp has improved that, but whatever Rodgers' input was on the squad was terrible.

when you are changing a system so much, especially to a pressing one it takes time
the only real thing Poch was able to do with Spurs his first 6 months was improve their fitness a ton, which led to a lot of late winners
Even for this season there's not a lot of change in bringing players in (Alderwield, Alli, and Dier are the only new consistent starters), but so many players who looked really bad in his system last year know their role much better now and are having excellent seasons (Walker, Dembele, and Lamela being the 3 biggest improvements)
Plus the ability to offload all the players who you figure out just won't work
That's what Klopp will be doing the rest of the year, figure out who he can work with and start fitting them in roles for next year. Then in the summer bring in those 2-4 new players who you want to fit in and go from there
Striker definitely
someone to play behind the striker with Coutinho/Firminho
a CM
1 or 2 CBs

Remember when City were going to win the league easily? Aren't they a much bigger disappointment than United given their talent level?
