Good!! Don't need them knowing that. They can find out once/if he's there lol
I remember when Jaybo got traded here there was talk on Panters message boards that he was soft as marshmallow. Little did I know they actually knew what they were talking about!

Am I the only one that doesn't get giddy over a Bouwmeester trade to the Red Wings? Most of their prospects look extremely meh to me honestly.
I like the trade scenarios with Philly the most, but I also understand the fact that Bouw would probably not waive to go there.

Philly HAS to know bouwmeesters super soft pedigree from his FLA days, no ? I would be shocked to see them trade for him, but hey, anything is possible. His NTC, lack of playoff experience and huge price tag likely makes the 'return' limited......not saying teams don't what him, but prob aren't paying up to what some think.
I also think its crazy to trade Glencross. He is the bargain of the league . Unless the return was going to be massive ( dont know who/what that would be) i would keep him and look to him for more leadership. We still need guys with nhl experience.
Stajan : if anyone would take the weakest player in the league for free , it's a win.
Ditto Sarich..... No one wants a guy who can't regularly play in one of the worst defence corps in the league. That signing was ridiculous , and says a lot about mgmt . Scott Hannah was no Ray bourque , but we had him at 1 yr @ 1million , he essentially took Sarichs job, and then u let him go (fine) , and give sarich 2 yrs @ 2mm with a NTC ?!?!?! Wtf . Brutal

Philly also has the tough defenseman to help cover for Bouw's softness. Their area of need is puck moving and mobility, two things that Bouw excels at.
They have Timonen, Grossman, Schenn, and Coburn to play the physical game, they need somebody with some mobility.

I wonder if they're out of Fobort license plates in the gift shop.

You ever watch Timonen play? He makes Phil Housley look like a bruiser.

Just too much wrong with this.... JayBow has skills, successful teams need a puck moving defensman in the playoffs in order to have success and if JayBow was on a team with decent hockeyplayers, he'd probably do really well.
Glencross has a great value contract and that is why other teams would probably over pay to have him. If he left, would this team be that much worse? We have to ice a team, but it wouldn't be too hard to ice a team that could beat this one. Next year there will be a lot of compliance buy outs and salary dumps, we can fill the team with them. If the return for Glencross is good, you have to consider it.
Stajan has bee one of if not the Flames best player. Saying we should give him away for free just doesn't make any sense. He's been playing really well for us and was by far our best center, I could see a team like the ducks or devils giving us a second rounder for him.....

If u could fleece someone with a second round pick for stajan, do it in a heartbeat, I just don't think anyone would give that for him.
And you're right , glencross doesn't make or break this team, and if the price is right , trade him, i just would be focused on moving a lot more guys ahead of him..
I also think the only 'skill' jaybo has is he can skate really fast . To me a team like Pitt, Anaheim , boston, or Chicago isn't looking to add him for a deep run . Maybe more likely a team looking to get in, like Columbus.

Eric D made a good pint on the fan, teams feel the urge to make a deal now the pressure is on to ante up.
Come draft those same teams might hold off, or have other things going on, wait for free agency, more time prior to camp.
We could end up with a Regher return

Exactly; you move Bouwmeester now when guys think they're a piece away from making some noise, and thus are willing to overpay and give you what you want. The draft is four months away, that's plenty of time for people to fall out of love with him or obsess over his many flaws.

He would be the Carle replacement in Philly.
Carle went away to TB and Philly replaced him with Schenn. That was almost as stupid as the Flames replacing Phanuef and Regehr and Vandermeer and Pardy with Brodie, Butler, Smith and Babchuck..... nothing wrong with any of these guys but they all need 2-3 bruisers as defensive mates.
Schenn for Bouwmeester helps both Philly and the Flames. The Flames have a bunch of guys who would look great with Schenn watching their back.
Carle went to TB and as their #1 D man got the coach fired. These smooth skating semi-offensive guys need to have 2-3 bruisers to cover for them and make them effective. Otherwise they become Bouwmeester and team wreckers.
Too many bruisers and you get the the same result. You need the balance and the Flames led by Bouwmeester have none.

The Wings don't have any elite prospects available (I doubt Smith and Nyquist are on the table), but they do have a bunch of guys who look like they'll e legitimate NHLers. Wings prospects of the Tatar/Jurco/Jarnkrok don't often turn into absolute busts. The Wings have a way of drafting and developing players at least into capable NHLers. And they tend to draft for hockey smarts, which is a quality Feaster and Weisbrod put a premium on.
