Wow the Brits really wanted Serena out, cheering loudly before points were even complete. Great win for Lisicki and there's no reason she can't win the whole thing now.
It isn't so much that they wanted Serena out, more to do with cheering for the underdog. British tennis fans will support their players 100% and if there is any chance of an underdog coming through, they love it. People here for some strange reason really like Nadal, but people were really cheering for Darcis, likewise with the Federer match. I don't think I've heard a many people cheering for a Federer opponent as they did this year (other than when he's played Murray).
The only player in recent memory that I can remember the Wimbledon crowds actively cheering against was John McEnroe in the 1980s. People here hated him and they were the ones who gave him the name "SuperBrat."
So if Sloane Stephens does indeed get bounced as it appears she will, does ESPN just cancel its coverage of the rest of the womens event, or do they just shift it all to ESPN 8? No doubt they will not be happy with the final four.

they might as well just put it on The Ocho, since Chris Evert and the gang are still in shock that they can no longer verbally fellate (cunnilingate?) the Almighty Serena. it was pretty hard to stomach the commentary against Lisicki yesterday with Chrissie repeating over and over how there was no way Sabine could continue to play that good, look at the concentration on Serena's face, she knows that she will be able to turn it on whenever she wants and then it'll be total domination, blah blah. Excessive Serena Praise Network indeed.

Haven't watched alot of women's tennis in the past couple years since Sharapova became older and not as good looking, but i'm really digging this Flipkens chick and her glasses.

That's unfortunate to hear. I thought only the BBC was guilty of excessive homerism when it came to their domestic tennis product. Outside of him being a complete knob, the biggest reason why I like seeing Andy Murray lose is because of the coverage and unconditional support the BBC has for their star man. It almost sickens me.

she's all yours bro. I'll stick with over the hill granny Sharapova if that's cool with you.

Verdasco is playing exceptionally well and has taken advantage of all his chances, what you need to do for an upset. I'd imagine the British Press will lose their #### if Murray blows it with such a clear, seemingly easy path to the title.

Miracle, absolutely brutal collapse by your opponent, same thing pretty much. Regardless today shows that it'll be a stunner if anyone but Djokovic wins the tournament.
