I'm quoting this because it's still the best post of this thread.

The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to metallicat For This Useful Post:
I see a lot of people asking why we need to see pictures and why not just believe what Obama has said, my answer to this is, Why believe what the US Government says? It has been proven time and again that they consistently lie about what happens with its military....the gulf of tonkin, Jessica Lynch's contrived story, the lies about Pat Tillman's death..all were taken as truth until further investigation proved they were all lies!
Why are people so easy to forget these lies and accept new ones so quickly? This isn't a conspiracy theory, all this is is accountability...The complacency of the American people is getting ridiculous.
You know, there is such a thing as 'useful debate' without name calling and other insinuations. Just because someone doesn't agree with your opinion, doesn't mean they don't have the right to express his/her own.
The general rule around here that it's okay to label ideas/arguments by whatever perjorative applies. Just don't call individuals the same.
STEVE KROFT: Did you see the pictures?
PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: Yes.
STEVE KROFT: What was your reaction when you saw them?
PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: It was him.
STEVE KROFT: Why haven’t you released them?
PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: You know– we discussed this internally. Keep in mind that– we are absolutely certain this was him. We’ve done DNA– sampling– and testing. And– and so there is no doubt that– we killed– Osama bin Laden. It is important for us to make sure that very graphic photos of somebody who was shot in the head– are not floating around– as– an incitement to additional violence. As a propaganda tool. You know, that’s not who we are. You know, we don’t trot out this stuff as trophies. You know, the fact of the matter is this was somebody who was– deserving of the justice that he received. And I think– Americans and people around the world are glad that he’s gone. But– but we don’t need to spike the football. And– I think that given the– the graphic nature of these photos– it would– create some national security risk. And I’ve discussed this with– Bob Gates and Hillary Clinton and– my intelligence teams and they all agree.

Is his own daughter lying about seeing her dad get killed?
Oh I guess she probably isn't really his daughter though, right?
Edit - Why am I even giving in to ###### conspiracy theorists? Sheesh.

All of those lies were born out of logic.
What is the logical reason for THIS lie? What does the government gain by lying about it and saying they killed a man they didn't kill? What's the angle?
I've asked this to several different people in this thread and not once has someone responded.

Thing is, Biden let it slip that the mission was indeed carried out by SEALs, and I don't think any of those guys would buy into a outright lie by the US government.
If they hadn't killed Bin Laden, one of them would have gone public by now.
If they were going to lie about it, they would have done it on September 12, 2001. Ok that was a bit of a hyperbole, but you get the idea. Lying about it 10 years later? Why?
I have a question for conspiracy theorists...in your opinion, does the US government EVER tell the truth? Are they lying about EVERYTHING?

I might be missing something but, there doesn't seem to be too many folks denying that Obama was killed. I think it is more a creation of news agencies.

I don't think they intentionally lie.
But when Ben Bernanke gets up on TV to tell the US people that the country needs continued stimulus spending, I do believe he's lying through his teeth.

One of the forums I visit is frequented by special operators of various kinds, and some still have contacts within the community. None of them have mentioned anything about this being a hoax.
I think I trust them more than I do some truther nut.
