As you've asked, i will shill for a software wallet I use. I do use both software wallets and a hardware wallet. As Worth mentions, who the heck knows what will happen going forward so it's prudent to diversify both wallets, tokens and investments in general.
My recommendation is Crypto.com.
- they allow e-transfer from Canadian banks
-you can purchase a lot of different cryptos right on their app
-they have an exchange for better spreads and even more cryptos
-they have cefi so you can earn interest on your crypto or borrow against it
-they have debit cards with great perks so you can spend your crypto anywhere
-I feel it's the most intuitive app for users which is nice for everyone but especially beginners
-They've been established a long time and have a large enough user base, I consider them as safe as any software wallet.
I would say their biggest negative is their token ( CRO) has a crazy number of coins so I see little price growth if you choose to purchase some of them. There is value in owning some CRO though and doubt it will devalue to zero.
