First North American Bitcoin ETF Approved by Canadian Securities Regulator

Curious how something like this will affect QBTC considering their high premium to NAV.

Obviously you guys are going to bump all my posts if it doesn't go my way...I am betting bragging rights just by posting. HODLING whole coins I bought for $1500 Canadian though I'm not too stressed. I have already 40x'd a large investment.

Anyway if you want a two year 10x buy ether...BTC is probably only 3X over the next couple years. Take my advice or don't, my track record speaks for itself.

I guess I need to start dipping into this.

First thing I think I need is a wallet? You guys using hardware, software, both? What's a good software wallet to go with?

First thing you need is to not buy into the market at the moment. Everything is on the way up, but if you put money in now, you are just gambling. Regardless of what people say, they have no idea what the market is going to do tomorrow. Wait until things calm down and the market is more stable for investment.

Ledger and Trezor hardware wallets are popular. You could look into those.

It went up in the past, therefore:
1) it will continue, and
2) I am super smart!

I believe that is the number yes. I have not applied to set up a validator node as I don't have the technical knowledge to set one up. I've read companies may set up nodes and take a pool of people's ETH for a cut of the Staking profits. I may consider this if I'm comfortable with the company.
Are you considering it?

I believe in bitcoin and currently hold a small position (about 1/4 of a coin) that I got into a couple years ago after losing some investing in alt-coins. I'm planning to buy in for more but gonna wait for a drop. I think inevitably it will happen and then it will go back up again. People talking about 100k bitcoin by 2023 might not be far off.

As you've asked, i will shill for a software wallet I use. I do use both software wallets and a hardware wallet. As Worth mentions, who the heck knows what will happen going forward so it's prudent to diversify both wallets, tokens and investments in general.

My recommendation is Crypto.com.
- they allow e-transfer from Canadian banks
-you can purchase a lot of different cryptos right on their app
-they have an exchange for better spreads and even more cryptos
-they have cefi so you can earn interest on your crypto or borrow against it
-they have debit cards with great perks so you can spend your crypto anywhere
-I feel it's the most intuitive app for users which is nice for everyone but especially beginners
-They've been established a long time and have a large enough user base, I consider them as safe as any software wallet.

I would say their biggest negative is their token ( CRO) has a crazy number of coins so I see little price growth if you choose to purchase some of them. There is value in owning some CRO though and doubt it will devalue to zero.

I have given the reasons why its going up...mocking my predictions hasn't aged well in this thread over the last 4 years but maybe this time

Cash is on fire (not in a good way) and the richest man in the world just bought 1.5B in BTC...it won't always be in a straight line but BTC and Ether are going up its not rocket appliances. Every week we have more of the worlds top companies on board. Who is next? Apple? Oracle? Either and we are well on our way to 100k

There are pools and exchanges that allow people to "stake" without needing the required multiples of 32 ETH, or don't want to deal with the hassle of setting up their own nodes and validators. At least two well-known exchanges have it already setup, Kraken and Binance and unlike staking it yourself, you can "unstake" (if an emergency comes up) and get back liquid ETH (at a conversion of about 0.96).

I am not here to say it isn't going up. I am here to say that your overconfidence shows that you are a fool.

"every week we?" WE?

You take this way too personally. Never make investing personal, or emotional.

And the units can be purchased in Canadian or US dollars. There will be two CAD units, but I don’t know the differences between them.

One might negate the currency risk.

I figured you would confuse those. I was being personal with you and was discussing your feelings towards this stuff.

You are emotionally charged regarding the investments, that is the difference, and that is what you want to avoid.

What are your Crypto holdings?

Emotional, on here maybe but it's all in good fun...I am cold blooded in the market. I have been diamond handsing whole coins of BTC since March 2017.

I am passionate about crypto as I really believe in it vs a government printing money and lying about inflation.

Currently I am holding BTC and buying Eth and ADA

I'm currently holding BTC, ETH, XLM and ZEC with the large majority of the holding in BTC. I've been buying on dips but most of my major buys were back when BTC was between $9-$12,000. Crypto is still a very low single digit % of my overall investment portfolio so I have no problem holding indefinitely.
