That’s a crazy spread. Does he need pressure to throw his best?

I would say it's probably the other way around. His stuff is good enough when the losing team is gripping their bats trying to get a rally going. But he really doesn't have that amazing stuff that is unhittable. So teams can sit fast ball and catch up to it and do some damage.

Great start by Berrios! Going toe to toe with Cole is an impressive feat.

Sorry about that. I blame myself.
Judge is a monster.

Throwing a first pitch fastball to Judge with a man on.....not the strategy I would go with.

The best thing the Jays batters can do right now is to extend their at bats so that they can try to get to the bullpen.

Could be. The Jays love their scoreless streaks.

Ha. Can they go 3-1 over their last 4 to clinch?
They absolutely needed to win last night. But of course the 2023 Jays are making this way harder then it should be. Or likely choke way harder than anyone could've imagined.

If the Astros win the Jays need 3 to clinch. If the Mariners win, the Jays need 2 to clinch as they hold the tiebreaker over the Astros.
It all doesn't matter though because the Jays won't score another run this season.

Well that's the game.
We're definitely not getting 4+ runs against Cole.

If this team is legit they have to hit against the best pitchers every now and then. They've been mediocre all year, I'll stand beside what I've been saying all along. The past week notwithstanding it's been eeking wins out here and there but no streaks or smacking in runs when guys are on base. This is frustrating as a fan to watch. Especially when it's a shoulder shrug when it doesn't work out.

I'm thinking Astros for sure. Astros win and Seattle is on the outside with 85-73 and Blue Jays would be 87-71. If it's vice versa and Seattle wins both Houston and Seattle would be at 86 wins with the Jays at 87. I mean it's all relative if the Jays just win games but in that scenario I already counted this game as a loss.
