If all of the non-objectors yield their time does that shorten it or does that give the objectors more time to spout nonsense? In the senate you could just let Hawley go first and then everyone else just yield. With 100 in the house you still hit 2hrs but at least the senate could have a nap.

What a f'n joke. All of this just to get shot down in both chambers and lose in humiliating fashion. Anyone who wants to speak is allowed 5 minutes, they may not speak more than once though. Debate is limited to two hours.

So, in the Senate, they could just let Hawley talk, then no one else, then go right to the vote.

However, in the House there are more than enough objectors to fill the full two hours, so it doesn’t actually matter if the Senate goes quickly, we’ll still be waiting for the House to finish and vote.
