Leo's character in Titanic was named Jack Dawson.
So we're getting Jack Hughes and Dawson Mercer is exchange for the large boat anchor contract of Huby which will sink the Devils.
I guess I'm ok with that, but has to happen now to make sense.

The biggest boat anchor contract (other than Huberdeau) would be Nurse. I'd be disappointed if we help the Oilers in anyway, but if we get a haul for taking Nurse and Edmonton doesn't win the cup in '25...

Is there a big contract out there, that would also be an Ex-Flame returning?
Gudbransson?

...Johnny? That'd certainly be the most fun answer.

Monny just signed in Columbus to be with Johnny. He signed for 5 years. No way they are trading him.
Boring Sean would quickly become Depressed Sean.

...Laine's return to the NHL alongside his boat-like contract?
It'd be fun if Conroy could somehow involve himself in the Laine/Trouba contracts this Summer.

Why does this mean we are getting a boat anchor contract back?

I can't see us taking back any contract that would have a lot of term left. Maybe 2 years max.

I can't see Trouba waiving to go anywhere. He is determined to stay in New York for his wife.
Imagine us trying to put the screw to a player like that? We would be blacklisted. Not New York. They will just toss anyone away and just sign the next big name.

I wouldn't think he'd play here, but in a retention for a 3rd team?

I don't think he will waive for any team. Maybe New Jersey? That's about it.
He is set on being in New York for his wife to finish her residence at a New York hospital I believe.

I’ll play. Titanic was owned by White Star Line. Both Columbus and Dallas have a white star in their NHL logo. Flames therefore must be getting a contract dump from Columbus, Dallas or both.

The Titanic hit an ICEberg.
Hockey is played on ICE, therefore the flames are acquiring an ICE hockey player.
Nailed it.
