Who ever designed the age verification section of the Calgary COOP app needs multiple kicks in the nuts...
Verify my age...no problem...except there is no option so select a year...only month by month...
Know how long it takes to scroll back to the 60's from this year month by month ?
I'll tell ya when I'm done.

People actually put in their real birthdate for those age verification things? I just scroll until the first date that puts me over 18 years old, it's not like it's a legal document, lol.

Yeah, it has to match what they have on file. The app seems to work if you skip verification though.

The thing that annoys me about Co-op is if you go to their website to view the weekly flyer, they make you type in your postal code and confirm your local store. It's CALGARY Co-op. Every store has the same flyer.

As someone who used to work in the factory that printed these flyers...that is not true.
Each store is capable of having store-specific specials that needed to be added or changed in their flyers, thus we had to have the ability to print a slightly different flyer for every store.
IIRC (this job was many, many years ago) we almost never DID, but Co-op demanded the ability to do so, if they wanted to, so they were able.

I had a long plastic hose and thought the best way to dispose of it would be to recycle it in the blue bin. When I decided to do this, there was already some material in the bin and then before the pick up day, we put more on top, so the hose was somewhere in the middle.
I came home to find it in the middle of the street, so presumably the truck driver saw it (I think they have cameras?), decided it wasn't appropriate material and fished it out of the truck...
Now, maybe this is on me, but 1) It seemed a little dickish to just throw it in the street and 2) I guess I'll put it in a garbage bag and throw it in the black bin for next week... That'll show me

I'd be more inclined to think that the hose was pulled out by a bottle picker or someone else going through your bin.
I doubt any driver is going to climb into the back of their truck to pull out an item when they have employees working at the sorting facility who does that job.

It's possible as it was dumped it got caught up in a mechanism, and the driver was pissed off and tossed it. They say not to recycle hoses like that.

The driver won't bother pulling stuff out, but if they see something go in that doesn't belong, they will leave a tag on the bin reminding you of the do's and do not's.
For sure though, hose does not belong in the blue bin. This is handy to see what goes where. https://www.calgary.ca/waste/what-go...e/default.html

Got it, into the black bin it goes...
My mistake was putting it in the wrong bin, but it still seems strange the thing ended up in the street... Seems it wasn't the driver, and it wasn't bottle pickers, so I guess the gear grinder now is "weird #### that happens with no explanation"

Maybe it got coiled up like a spring inside the bin, so when it came out, it unspooled and flew out onto the street.

Half my garbage stayed in our black bin this week because my wife stuffed an old pilllow in there and jammed it up.

Always layer some heavy clay in the bottom to force everything out.

Why does COOP even need your birthdate? To sell your personal information?

I think its to verify you're 18 so they can send you ads for booze/weed.

That's a veteran husband right there coming here to bitch about it. Telling her about it directly would get you nothing but the doghouse.
You are valid we support you, brother.
