Again quite a bit different for Rusev (if he does lose). He's a known commodity to WWE viewers, and is already well established. Your average fan doesn't know many of the indie talent Khan signs. Jobbing them out, then not using them is poor booking.
Look at the AEW talent in WWE, almost all are being treated as big deals. Whether it be on NXT or the main roster. It's no wonder why many are looking at WWE as the #1 destination since Vince left.

I'm a pure casual at this point, but always watch Mania, and wow was that women's match ever a botch fest. Imagine a triple threat with Nia Jax in there, someone would have died.

this is my favourite WM entrance of all time. I have such a raging wrestling boner right now.

Very good main event, pretty much saved the night.

Pretty craptastic night 1, but there were some good moments.
Jey/Gunther was surprisingly good.
Fenix/Gable slapped.
Very obvious Swerve in the main even, but it made sense in terms of longterm storytelling.
I can't believe how green Jade still is. Starting to feel like she might just be bad.

Frickin Flair was waaaaaayyyyy worse than Jade and it wasn't even close. She obviously worked Tiffany stiff and broke some of tiffanys teeth in the process. Tiffany IMO was lucky to walk out of the ring in one piece tonight with how bad Flair was.
That's not saying Jade wasn't bad but she most certainly wasn't the worst of the night.

TBH the matches were fine from a pure wrestling standpoint but the build for most of the matches was so poor that there was no real emotional investment in them.
Tiffany and Charlotte were both working stiff for sure and it caught up to them by the end of the match when both were exhausted and hurt and led to sloppiness.
One step closer to a super faction of Rock, Cena, Rollins, Heyman and ? By the end of the weekend

Nah. The women's matches were total botch fests. If AEW put on something like that, tracker would have had all the smoke for them.
The entrances were super weird this year, too. This isn't really a criticism because I don't really care about the pageantry aspect. Just felt really dialed back vs. previous years. War Raiders outfits looked like they were made out of cardboard.

Night 1
Rey Mysterio vs El Grande Americano - This match is hilarious. There's now way Rey doesn't win, but maybe he eats a beatdown after to take some time off.
Naomi vs Jade Cargill - I will be impressed with WWE's restraint if this isn't a sub-two minute squash match. Even if it plays out like a proper match, no way Jade doesn't win this.
War Raider (C) Vs the New New Day - I've got no sense on this one. Flip a coin?
United States Championship LA Knight vs Jacob Fatu - I think WWE is less likely to let LA Knight get squashed than Naomi, but there is also no way Fatu doesn't walk out as champ.
World Championship Tiffy (C) vs Charlotte Flair - WWE can't help themselvers. I don't know Tiffy as a wrestler, but Flair becomes champ again much to the hostility of the crowd.
World Championship Gunther (C) vs Jay Uso - which letter in the company name wins this, the second or the third? I feel like the obvious choice is Jey as the E, so I'm picking the swerve and picking Gunther as the W to win this.
Roman Reigns vs CM Punk vs Seth Rollins - My expectation is that Punk wins, my hope is that Rollins wins. Even if it's through cheating and backstabbing.
Hope it's at least a fun night 1.

OK - I was excited by the Fenix substitution, and was ready for Gable to exposed and the angle to end. So of course, WWE really WWEd it, and on the night they announced the AAA purchase as well. Never forget your carny roots I guess.
Jade and Naomi was as expected, albeit longer than I anticipated. I get why companies want to try and push Jade to the moon, but it's like neither of them actually watch her performance in the ring.
Poor Gunther. Should have picked the obvious winner, too smark for my own good sometimes.
Coin landed on New Day. Great cowardly run from the ring after the win.
Fatu win as expected.
Tiffy and Charlotte was messy. Charlotte doesn't look good in the ring when the opponent can't help make her look good. Tiffy's gonna have an expensive dental bill.
Main event delivered. Love Rollins' win. Loved the tease of the Shield powerbomb through the table.
Night 1 was fine. And surprisingly short, I'm glad it only went 4 hours.

I was going to bring up the entrances and Gears thing. Usually Wrestlemania has these amazing entrances, and the Wrestlers go all out with customized one time only gear.
Outside of Living Color and the Flame thrower, the entrances felt very Raw like.
The woman's matches were botch fests with Charlotte and Tiffany bordering on dangerous.
I've never been a Flair fan, because she feels entitled, and because she can get really unprofessional. I get there is some personal animosity between Stratton and Flair, and sometimes you just say F it and go a little stiff. But you still have to take care of each other. Neither did that tonight, and Stratton looks like she had some teeth knocked out and took a really serious looking head blow.
The rest of tonight was ok, but I agree after the last two wrestlemanias this one was flat over all.
I did love the El Lucha Americano match because both workers are really talented, and Chad got to really show up. The Main Event was good, but that turn could be seen from a mile away. The Gunther Jay match was pretty good, but Gunther carried it.
Jade is really gifted, and he's almost the total package of charisma and looks. But I thought they put her in a feud with a vet like Naomi to see if Jade could work to the next level. she can't.

It is really starting to feel like Jade is the modern day Goldberg. AEW really protected her, but she's been exposed in WWE.

Don't get me wrong, the main event was good (aside from the very predictable ending). I loved Punk's entrance and the video that played right before it.
But prior to the ME, I felt like I had just been watching an episode of Raw or SD. No wow factor.

Charlotte Flair? With bad body language when she's going to lose? Charlotte Flair who is known to sand bag people she's going to lose to?
Surely not...

In their defense, he was supposed to go over Rey. Rey... just got hurt.

Agreed show was decent. A few very good matches, but hopefully night two is better. I actually think the build in the Jade/Naomi feud has been good. I'm not a big fan of Naomi, but liked her promo work the last few weeks. She seems to work better as a heel, and will likely win the title in the future.
The tag division is not good right now, they should just merge rosters. I would think they'll elevate Fraxiom soon, but New Day should have a long run as champions. The main event and opener were quite good, but the rest of the show didn't have the WrestleMania feel to it. Stand and Deliver was the best wrestling show of the day, but the better matches should be on night two.
If you want to see some worthy botches, go watch Marina Shafir and Willow or the FTR matches from a few weeks ago. I know nobody watches Collision, but it was funny watching Steven Richards critique them. Shafir couldn't even lift Willow up to put her through the table. FTR was completely lost the entire match
These are botches!
