Pretty non denominational when it comes to gaming, we're lucky enough to be able to do pretty much whatever releases we like. Happy to go with the Switch, steamdeck, PS5 or the monster PC whenever it suits. Some things (strategy games generally) are definitely much better with a mouse and running a 9800x3d with a 4090 and 42" OLED is sweet as a first option most of the time. 77" OLED sit down console gaming is fine too. Actually just OLED all the time is the way to go lol.
And speaking of gaming without cost restrictions, the steam deck OLED has a refurbish model sale. Not sure about how "new" they are with these but you're getting a discount and also no GST.
I really got myself immersed into Star Wars Outlaws. Over the past couple of years I have come to the realization that my favorite type of game is one with open world exploration where you don't have to follow a linear path to complete all missions. I started RDR2 late in it's life and it is my favorite game of all time.
Now I'm working on Outlaws and I'm really enjoying it. Don't compare it to the likes of RDR2 because you'll just be disappointed but it is an enjoyable game. I'm hooked and I would recommend this game.

Yeah planning on getting the Ubisoft game pass thing soon so I can play through a bunch of those games. I've heard the Avatar one is quite good as well, another open world game.

FPS on console is awesome. Not sure why it gets so much hate. Being able to put my feet up on the couch, big screen tv, surround sound, sitting in comfort with a controller that fits my hands is awesome. Literally the only thing good about PC FPS gaming if the aiming accuracy, which obviously is superior to console, and the only way you can have a fair chance competing against a bunch of COD bros online. I'll take a comfy couch and big screen gaming session, over being hunched over on a desk with my face 4 inches away from a much smaller screen, arms spread out for the keyboard and mouse, headphones strapped on locked in a room.

And this is why. If I can only play a FPS on console I'm fine but I'll take playing it on PC any day of the week over console. That or playing it in VR.
Infinity Nikki on PS5 is really good, and it's free!
It's uh, obviously not going to appeal to a certain audience, but if you're open to "magical anime girl on a magical outfit journey in a whimsical magical world" -- then it's a really fun open world adventure / platformer. Great graphics and fantastic music too. Really can't say enough good things about it, give it a shot!

Acer is announcing two new Nitro Blaze gaming handhelds at CES 2025, and one of them, the Nitro Blaze 11, is truly giant with a massive 10.95-inch screen.

For me it's just that all the FPS games I like aren't even available on console.
Sounds like you need a bigger monitor and a comfier chair.
For a few years, I’d assumed my reaction times were just a bit too slow for Metroidvania-style games, which pretty much killed my enjoyment of them. But The Lost Crown feels so much more accessible. The story is fantastic, the difficulty is just right--challenging without being frustrating--and the gameplay is a blast. Plus, it looks and sounds incredible.
It's a real shame it flopped.

Yep, we passed the 1 year anniversary of said trailer last month. People were hoping we'd get a new one for the occasion, but I guess not. I'm having a tough time believing this releases in 2025, I'm guessing 2026.
On another note, after the initial mass leak last year, amazing how tight a lid R* seems to have on info now. That NDA must be no joke.

Yep, was in my top 3 of last year, fantastic game and literally everyone slept on it. I was tooting its horn here in January last year lol

I finally got a PS5 for Christmas and picked up this game. There are some problems with it but overall it is pretty fun. It's fun being in the Star Wars universe but not being part of the Jedi thing. Lots of fun Easter eggs as well.
Yesterday I got into Jabbas palace and found Han in carbonite and then found Boba talking to someone about getting paid.

You're faster than me! Over the weekend I just got past that part too but I've probably been at it longer than you. I did take time to complete all the available side missions on Toshara before going to another planet.
Overall it is a fairly easy play but beating the Rancor was a bit frustrating.
Assassin's Creed Shadows just got delayed again. Originally bumped from November 2024 to Valentine's Day 2025, it's now bumped another month, to March 20th.
Given how many times they've released an unfinished product, I'm good with this.
I finally finished Octopath Traveller 2 (5 stars) and I’m playing FFVII Remake in anticipation of Rebirth coming to Steam next week. I also got Ghost of Tsushima in the winter sale so I’m in AAA world for the next while.
I still play UFO 50 a lot. I put it on my Anbernic RG35XX-H via Portmaster so it’s always handy. It’s the perfect game for a quick session.

I've put off Octopath 1 & 2 for far too long and FF7 I started too many times and never got too far (Me problem not the game) but Ghosts is one of those games I picked up and played through and loved, got a little slow in the end or maybe that was the DLC I can't remember its been a while.

This is my second attempt at FFVII Remake. I’m a turn-based snob so the combat irked me and they made Cloud extra insufferable. I’m having fun so far though.
I look forward to Ghosts. It looks beautiful which is a change from the retro pixel art games I’ve mostly been playing lately.

It's just the one ghost, actually...
