wrgmg... trimming our boxwood hedge yesterday, only to discover a wasp nest somewhere in the hedge. got stung on the right hand by the thumb knuckle and on my left calf.

the silver lining of this is that i have apparently outgrown my sting allergy i had as a toddler (how i've gone 47 years without getting stung is beyond me.... but here's to 47 more 'sting-free' years!)

I’m allergic to stings and got nipped twice last summer by wasps (hornets, yellow-jackets, whatever the he11 the little buggers are) in a hedge I was cutting. Now I’ll rake the hedge before starting or put on all of my motorcycle gear like I’ve done a couple of times. My allergic reaction is worse each time. My wife made me get an epipen.

Thats a pretty good idea. Even if the reaction isnt all that severe, just to be able to make the effects wear off faster would be great.

If that happened to me? I'd hire someone to do it.

"Theres no wasps in these hedges right?"

- "Well theres not no wasps in these hedges..."

Popcorn-eating memes....all of them. Trying to follow some fast-moving events in Russia and need to wade through the same endless, moronic memes. They were funny-ish when John Stewart did them, but he's been gone a loooong time.

You guys don't use a leaf blower to clean up the base of the hedges and piss off #### that is hiding in there before ####ing around with the hedge? It helps to deal with the bird #### too if birds love your hedge.

I never dealt with wasps but I jumped really high one time when some grouse shot out of the hedge in my direction one time. Usually birds like sparrows shoot out in the opposite direction. Same as hares.

i had used the hedge trimmer, then used a rake on top to get stuff off, then a leaf blower. i guess the leaf blower is when the wasps finally had enough! ha!

Summer colds. Maybe flu. I don't know what it is but it's doing a number on me.

Getting excited when you think a new building under construction nearby will be a restaurant or something that doesn't suck and inevitably it's a bank or something just as stupid.

I feel this. A new building and everything is just another mundane barbershop, registry, or yet another cannabis store.

There's something up with the FedEx Calgary terminal when it comes to ground shipments. When a FedEx label is printed it will have an estimated delivery date. It has happened at least three times this year when a package on route to me has showed as "Early" status so basically a day or two ahead of the estimated delivery date on the label and the new expected delivery date is shown for example "Tuesday 06/20/2023 before 8:00 pm estimated between 10:50 am - 2:50 pm." All three times the day of the expected delivery date comes and goes without an update and the package is delivered a day or two later corresponding to the original printed label. Not a big deal as it amounts to an extra day or two but it seems like the Calgary depot is holding on to early shipments and not scanning them until the original ship date and if that's the case then why tease people with the "Early" status and tell people they are going to be delivered on a certain day when the local depot has no plans of doing that? Only FedEx does this.

Ugh worst. I think they're extra hard to shake because everywhere you go is pumping AC this type of year. Just keeps you chilled.

One time I scared a grouse family out of a hedge. Most of them took them the empty field except the one dodo who shot into the adjacent house window and broke his neck then flopped around for a short while. Kinda shocking.

Dealing with corporate companies and some of their idiotic policies, moron employee's and getting the constant runaround for issues that are clearly obvious to someone with 2 braincells. That RGMG's!

I have taken a new approach to this matter and just started emailing top executives with a copy to a media contact I have highlighting the stupidity.

You would be amazed at how quickly the BS goes out the window when these executives are made aware of the time wasting, paper shuffling, excuses, runaround and more that occurs with these files. Throw in legit concerns regarding potential illegal activities like tied selling, purposely being misled on financial matters (fraud) and more and we get a magic solution. Usually within a few hours we get upper management calling with apologizes, courier of payment, investigations into what went wrong, more apologizes, refunds of fee's paid etc.

Would be nice if we just neverminded the bull **** and got around to finding solutions for legit concerns/client problems/legit claims. Things might move a little faster than.

Working from home is much trickier now that the kids are home from school. Nobody even tries to keep it down even though Dad is in his office on the phone. Also, doing some quick math here, I may go broke if I have to keep feeding all their friends that come in and out of here all day long.

Don't feed the friends and eventually it will be your kids going to the friends' places instead and you can have peace and quiet.

My daughter has this awesome friend who loves coming to our house and loves to cook. I suspect she just kind of finds our house more comfortable than her own because she sleeps over a lot, too, and I know there is some chaos over at her place. Last night I forbade her from cooking, though, as I'm worried she's trying to earn her keep hah. Just stay and live with us...no need to serve us, ya rascal.
