"As a result of the ongoing investigation, it would be inappropriate for the Premier to comment on this further, until the investigation is completed."
Danielle can't help but comment on her situation and has already commented multiple times on it.
She's addicted to the sound of her own pandering bleating. It's impossible to keep her dumb mouth shut.

You don't think it's a bit of a dick move to make eye contact with whomever is knocking at your door and then do nothing?
He could be like most people who don't answer, and just ignore the knock without staring them down to show who the alpha is.

I look to see who is at the door because if it is a neighbor, one of my kid's friends or someone else I know I will obviously answer the door. If it a random door knocker the door is not being opened.

What can the Ethics Commissioner do about breaches by Members?
If a Member has not complied with the Conflicts of Interest Act provisions, the Ethics Commissioner can do the following:
- In the case of an investigation about a Member, the Ethics Commissioner must report the findings of the investigation to the Legislative Assembly and can recommend to the Legislative Assembly that a sanction be imposed on the Member. However, in the end, it is the Legislative Assembly that decides whether the Member has complied with the legislation, whether to impose any sanction on the Member and, if so, what type of sanction to impose.
- Where a Member has not filed his/her disclosure or direct associates return on time, the Ethics Commissioner can impose an administrative penalty on the Member. The maximum amount of the penalty that can be imposed is $500.
The Ethics Commissioner does not have the power to:
- Remove a Member or require a Member to resign.
- Stop the introduction, development, passage or defeat of a bill, resolution or legislative proposal in the Legislative Assembly.
- Otherwise control or direct the proceedings in the Legislative Assembly.
- Stop the Government from developing, amending, enacting, implementing or terminating any legislation, orders in council, ministerial orders, regulations, guidelines, directives, programs, or policies.

Well that's rather toothless. And because it says "must report to the L.A." I presume that means we won't hear the result until after the election? And now the media can't ask her any questions on it? Gee, did she refer herself to the commissioner?

Duane Bratt @DuaneBratt
I have deleted a tweet showing the Pawlowski brothers horribly harassing Justice Minister Shandro in person and in print. People have misunderstood the intent of my tweet which was NOT about endorsing this type of abuse.
https://twitter.com/duanebratt/statu...820121090?s=21
The Pawlowskis have a long history of abusive harassment (which started well before covid) and it needs to be called out. Unfortunately, there is a connection between Art Pawlowski, Premier Smith, and Shandro. This connection was the purpose of my tweet.
https://twitter.com/duanebratt/statu...854325761?s=21
In the last two weeks, a video has surfaced of an 11 minute phone call between Art Pawlowski and Smith. In that tape, Smith is very sympathetic towards Pawlowski's advocacy and legal troubles (he was facing trail within a couple of weeks of the call).
https://twitter.com/duanebratt/statu...704030208?s=21
Not only that, but she says that she has asked questions of Shandro and his deputy about legal cases involving Pawlowski and others. In the tape, she says that she asks these questions on a weekly basis. It is clear that Shandro is being pressured.
https://twitter.com/duanebratt/statu...503403008?s=21
Yesterday on her radio show, Smith finally admitted that Pawlowski has "extreme views" that she completely disagrees with. But this was not said at the time of her conversation with Pawlowski. Nor did she say it for 10 days after the public release of the tape.
https://twitter.com/duanebratt/statu...344677889?s=21
So the point I was trying to make (clumsily) was that the Pawlowskis were abusively harassing Shandro in the aftermath of the release of a tape where Smith is sympathetic to Art Pawlowski's plight. And where Smith promises to continue to press Shandro on Art's legal case.
https://twitter.com/duanebratt/statu...156641792?s=21
It is important that Albertans hear from Shandro what he thinks of the pressure that the Premier is placing on him. As well as what he thinks of the Pawlowski brothers.
https://twitter.com/duanebratt/statu...010495489?s=21
For those that thought I was defending the harassment of Shandro, I was absolutely not. No person - elected or otherwise - should be subjected to people screaming vile things at them or writing that they are "murderers." And I apologize to anyone who construed that sentiment.

Is there any third party PAC that advocates for the ANDP/AP/classic conservatism and a return to civil and intelligent politics based in data not anger? TBA's presence and message needs to be countered with reasonable, intelligent and educated people that can provide a voice of sanity back into the political ecosystem here.

I was thinking more that the ethics office would be the next to be shuttered to help further reduce all the "red tape"

All I can get

The Ethics Commissioner won't make a ruling until post-election, and whatever decision with be rendered moot.
Smith may very well have requested the investigation to kick the can further down the road.
