Flames win their first game in two weeks to pass the Oilers in the standings.

No good.

This is what happens when you have the best offensive player in hockey today - pundits WANT you to win the cup.

Well, pundits will probably get their wish...3 or 4 years from now when McDavid is on another team and they show how easy it is to build around a generational talent. It is as if everyone forgot how incredibly terrible and embarrassing the Oilers were for so long, and they still haven't built a good team.

Canucks and oilers pretty much reversed in the standings from what the 'experts' predicted. I hope the beav is fired tomorrow. Smug little p***k.

Nicked this off a comment from the SN highlights for the Preds game:

The battle of Alberta rivalry runs so deep when the Oilers found out the Flames were going for the first overall pick they said not if we can do something about it.

Even though we’re in the basement you can always count on Edmonton beating us to the bottom. Where they belong.

It's crazy to think that the Oilers stand a good chance of getting of drafting 1st overall again if the season plays out like this. Better this season than last when Bedard was on the table I guess.

Yeah, continue not worrying about that entire other part of the game you all seem to forget exists. It'll work out fine this time, surely!

Tommy Novak has as many goals as Draisaitl and McDavid combined.

Great way to turn a 2 week injury into a 2 month one, just for the glory of a win against a team they were likely going to beat anyway.
Nailed it.

This, among so many other reasons, is why they deserve to be mocked, not hyped.

The blinders the media have on around the team is next level. Their continued failure with two top talents should be criticized every week. In particular the mismanagement of said players and failure to construct anything that resembles a supporting cast.

The last place San Jose Sharks have been out scored 54-11 including the first back to back 10 goal games in 50+ years,

Sharks goalies have a save percentage of 86.9% this year

Edmonton Oilers goalies still have a worse save percentage at 86.4%

God, please no!

I’d really struggle with that Sophie’s Choice.

Well for at least a minute (sorry Mack).

10 games into their season the Stanley Cup favorite Edmonton Oilers are 18 points behind the Las Vegas Knights

I think the best part of this for me is there is no sign that this snowball won't continue. They don't have the leadership in the room and you have to think it is pretty obvious in their video sessions that the break downs on the defensive side is why they are where they are. They never had to face adversity as things really were gift wrapped for them. Now we see the same old Oilers whose DERPs are giving their goalies PTSD.
