I'm still amazed some useless tit continues to try to hack my super valuable CP password, guessing 5 at a time, every few days. As if that could possibly succeed with over 100 bits of entropy. I won't do that math on it, but suffice to say, random guesses aren't going to get you there before the heat death of the universe. What a way to spend your time.

That's a weird one, I wonder what their old account was. I think maybe they dislike me? I dunno, I just scroll past the gibberish, but hey, free speech. Keep up the good fight, Stewie. I think you are on to something.

I used tap at the gas station recently and it ran a $250 authorization charge in addition to the cost of the gas. I've seen this before and it usually takes like 4 or 5 days before it goes away. Except this time my statement was created while it was still there, so my amount owing is $250 higher than it should be. Since the transaction isn't reversed in a visible way to my account (it just disappears), I'm guessing I have to pay the $250 in order to clear the amount owing? Seems like a bit of a rip off, if I saw a second $250 transaction going the other way then it would be applied to the balance owing but this way I don't think I get that benefit.
This is annoying me.

Are you sure this is right? Authorized charges don’t hit the statement. Only posted charges do. In my experience anyway.
If anything the $250 disappearing would just mean you would have to pay the balance minus $250.

loser sports parents rgmg
my son (who is 7) has been playing in a 3-3 'pond hockey' league for the last number of weeks. he's been playing goal (absolutely LOVES being between the pipes!). the games are at 4pm on thursdays, so usually my wife takes him.
she's been telling me about the dad of the other goalie - you can hear them talking in the other change room before/after the game and the two of them going on and on that his kid is the best goalie ever and it's not if, but WHEN he makes it to the nhl...blah blah blah.
well, our little guy is pretty solid in goal and is really starting to figure out 'the moves' of the skaters. the "future nhl-er"... not so much.
the dad of the other goalie volunteers to 'help with the scoreboard' and what that has amounted to is at the end of each period, if...errrr.... i mean WHEN his kid has been lit up he tells him to switch ends - so now my son is in goal for the team that is getting thumped. at the end of the game the other goalie will exclaim, "I WON DAD!!!!", when in reality he let in waaaaay more goals than my son, and the win is only a result of the dad getting his kid to switch ends.
another thing my wife noticed was that if our kid is getting lit up and say the score is 15-5, the scoreboard shows 15-5. if the other kid is getting lit up and the score is 15-5, the scoreboard will only show 7-5.
so - all that to say i had to take matthew to hockey yesterday.
at the end of the first period matthew's team was up 5-2, so of course the dad tells his kid to switch ends.
within the first 90 seconds of the second period it was 5-5 and my son had only let in 2 goals all game.
at the end of the second period the score was 7-6 for the 'other team' (so after 2 periods my kid had let in 4, the other kid 9). becuz the other goalie was on the team with the lead his dad told him to stay at that end.
matthew played great in the third period and the final score ended up being 16-13 for matthew's team. when i did my tally at the end of the game, matthew had let in 10 goals, the future nhl-er let in 19.
after the game matthew was happy that 'his' team won, but he was happier to find out that he won by 9 goals, not 3.
i just don't get how a parent can do crap like that. yea - i get that you want to encourage your kid - all parents do, but not at the expense of another kid - we're talking SEVEN year olds!!! when matthew made a nice save i'd yell out something like "great save matthew, that was a great shot you stopped!" not only am i encouraging my kid in goal, but also the kid who took the shot can hear that he had a great shot on goal.
oh - and my solution to a guy like this dad being a loser... do games to 5 goals. once a goalie lets in 5 the goalie's switch ends and the scoreboard goes back to 0-0... but i guess that's not what they do in the nhl

Oh #### you're right. I actually looked at the statement and it's not there. I rarely look at the actual statement anymore, just the transactions online. Thanks... I guess I was just hoping I'd get to pay $250 less on my bill.

Yeah. I haven't punched someone since I was like 7 years old, but how I felt when my wife had a miscarriage if someone had said that to her...
That's absurd. It's a terrible mix of dumb and hateful.

Why is the scoreboard even on for 7 year olds. The kids can kee score themselves if it’s important to them. Scoreboards inspire stupid parents to do stupid things.

People who don't use capital letters when writing out posts. Capital letters are used to improve readability and make sentences scan effortlessly for the reader. It's not idiosyncrasy, it's idiocy.

Apparently capital letters are an interesting challenge for AI systems. Because there is meaning/ context in how we use them for proper nouns, AI can stumble trying to understand what the grammatically inept are trying to say.
All the terrible spelling and word misuse these days just tells me people don't read enough well-edited content anymore. Someone properly used "tack" in here yesterday (as in "change tack") and I almost had a joygasm that they hadn't used 'tact' like I see everywhere.

My family's always had a fractured relationship, but it feels like a watershed moment right now in terms of everyone going their separate way for good.
The person I most feel sorry for is my mom who's put the matriarch hat on and tried to hold it all together for 20+ years.

Hyphenating two words acting as a single adjective preceding a noun. I'm impressed.

Wgmgs. I fratcured my right pinky finger at work that required a plate and 3 pins a year and half ago. Its been throbbing/painful,burning in my finger, palm forearm and elbow. I had surgery to remove the hardware 2 months ago thinking that was the problem. Unfortunatly its the same if not worse. Went to the doctor today and was told its not going to go away or heal. I am a metal fabricator and its my dominate hand. Hard to do alot of my duties without discomfort. Future is going to be stressful as most of my work experience is hands on. Anyway just ranting. Stay safe out there.
