I came to terms with that after they choked away the final two games against the Angels. Big Papi should take the whole Blue Jays team out to dinner as thanks.

Yup, division aspirations went away, at least for me, about two weeks ago.

If they make the wildcard game and it is in Toronto the atmosphere will be insane. I'm excited and scared at the same time.

I have sometimes wondered if all this adversity could be a good thing for the team should they make the playoffs. I look at the way the Jays finished last season and how the struggled against Texas and then KC in the playoffs.

I could see that. If they can win the wild card game I could see them going on a roll and knocking some teams out.

Boston is on fire right now, but once the playoffs come I could see them falling back to earth.

The pitching has stayed pretty consistent over the year, hopefully the Offence can get hot before playoffs. Be like the Cardinals the year they one it coming out of the WC

I can't see Boston falling back to earth. They are a great team in every aspect of the game and show no signs of slowing down. I can see them winning the World Series again this year (barf).

Who starts the wildcard game? Happ?

(Over/under on number of people who would have said that at the start of the season is 1)

Only person saying that is Happ himself, and even then maybe not. Have to think Happ will be the Jays starter in a 1 game playoff, he's earned it and at this point I would trust him in that scenario

Happ may not be the most lights out guy we have (Estrada, Sanchez, Stroman, Liriano, heck even Dickey on occasion has filthy stuff) but Happ has shown amazing consistency this year. You know what you are going to get from Happ and that's a great chance to win the game. He's less likely to blow it in the first inning than all the other choices.

I think ideally, if the schedule and standings allow, you have Happ as your starter and then Estrada or Sanchez available to come in in relief with a quick hook. If you win, still leaves Stroman and either Estrada/Sanchez as your game 1 & 2 starters in the ALDS with Happ as your game 3 guy.

Well first things first, show up this weekend and don't get swept or lose 3 out of 4. Yankees will be desperate, they probably have to sweep to have a realistic chance of getting a WC spot. If the Jays can take 3 out of 4 or sweep themselves, then they're probably good for the WC spot, and then you can focus on setting up the rotation.

20 game winner Happ will get the start in the wildcard game no question.

Detroit is an inning away from sweeping their double header with Minny and moving past Baltimore and into the 2nd wild card. Baltimore lost to the Red Sox again.

If I'm not mistaken that'll be the first time all season Baltimore won't be holding down a playoff spot.

Yankees also lost to Tampa
Houston is down 2-0 to LA in the bottom of the ninth but they have no outs and a runner on base.

I went last year and in the hotel, a random person asked me (I was wearing a Jays jersey) if the Blue Jays have this type of fan support in every road city. He couldn't figure out why a team from so far away like Toronto would have so much support in a west coast city! I tried to explain to him about Canada but not sure if he got it.

If I had to choose one starter for one game it would be Estrada.

I like Happ starting the Wildcard game.

Then if they win the wildcard game you can go Sanchez, Estrada, Stro, Happ, Sanchez.
