I would use it to build up Gunther even more as a heel. Let Jey defend the title a couple times and feel good. Have Gunther earn a rematch at SummerSlam, after becoming even more ruthless and more destructive and have him dismantle Jey in a vicious beating. Use that to build Jey back up as an underdog

Yeah that's what I'd do to but I think the world of Gunther.
Edit: Drew McIntyre would be my other pick to go over probably.

Was thinking today that if Austin does decide to do something at the LV rumble then it will likely be as Cody's support against Rock / Cena.
|
IIRC they considered Austin for what ended up being the Undertaker spot at last year's WM, but didn't go with it b/c it might overshadow everything, and would have been a really shoehorned in climax to the loooong bloodline saga. Blackout and the gong was so perfect for that spot and that he was basically able to evaporate out of the ring.
But Austin could make a lot more sense this year. Especially since it really seems like now or never for Austin-Cena to have any kind of interaction. I just googled it and apparently Austin just had a knee replacement a few months ago so he's probably not able to do any kind of work.

That Cody Rhodes works the mic as a face as well as anyone.
Crazy how he has been able to work from underneath again.

I am not sure what the worst part of that match was.
Christian suddenly becoming an idiot to justify getting the contract off him?
Moxley winning again?
That it happened at all?
The top of the AEW card is gross.

Hang Nail Adam Page dropped him on his face.

Mistakes happen. Hangman is normally fairly safe. Well safe is relative considering some of his matches. He normally doesn't botch is more accurate I guess.

I would think it'll be Punk/Reigns/Rollins triple threat. With a slight chance of the possible women's triple threat.
Uso has already said he doesn't care where his match falls on the card, whether it be the main event or opener.
I'm not a fan of having two triple threats and other multi-man matches, one per night is more than enough. It truly does feel like lazy booking, just a way to jam everyone on the card.

It would be very funny to me to make the guys nickname "main event Jay Uso" and then give him and the title a mid card spot.

I could see Jey Uso vs Gunthier kicking off night 1.
Last year they had Rhea and Becky in that spot, At 39 they had Cena vs Theory for the US title in that spot and usually want to kick off the weekend with a pretty big match.
I think they find a way to force Rollins vs Reigns vs Punk into the night 1 main event - but not quite sure how they make the stakes big enough that it warrants that spot.

Not to mention Royal Rumble winners haven't always necessarily main evented in recent yrs. I'll be glad for Punk if Reigns/Rollins/Punk does main event Night 1 b/c finally he gets it.

TBH I think it would feel empty for Punk.
I think what Punk really wanted was the chance to finish a story that culminated with a title match in the main event at WM. Not necessarily just to be in the main event.

More than that, it would be a waste of a kayfabe blending story line.

I still think Punk vs Cody vs Cena makes a lot more sense than the triple threat they went with.
Punk beats Cena at Elimination Chamber to earn the shot.
Cody comes out and confronts Punk post match, Cena stays in the ring, and then the Rock comes out to get Cody's soul.
Everyone probably expects Punk will be the one to turn heel in that scenario, and then it's actually Cena that attacks Punk and Cody (could even have The Rock be surprised by his actions), and Cena sides with the Rock. Rock uses his pull to add Cena to the match.
It would have made the match and moment even bigger IMO.
And would have given Cena the perfect angle as the Company Guy that did everything for the fans but was still hated and boo'd at times - but you had Punk that turned his back on the fans, and Cody who tried to start a different company to take down the WWE that were cheered by the fans that always resented him.
Plus Roman vs Rollins deserved the 1:1 payoff at WM too and honestly doesn't need a title - just a straight blood fued.

Reigns/Rollins definitely deserves a 1 on 1 payoff match. And knowing WWE they're good for running stuff back. With respect to Jey, I don't see him main eventing over Reigns though you never know.

Penta vs Breakker is going to be amazing
Finn vs Dirty Dom will also be great.
Ludwig Keiser is becoming one of my favourites.
John Cena is a great Heel.
Seth Rollins stunk out the joint.
American Made is soooooo good. If I were booking I would push them to the moon.
Gable def Jey Uso for the Heavy Weight Title
Ivy Nile Def Rea Rippley for the women's title
The CreedBros win the tag titles from the Viking Larpers.
