lol this is the response of someone who's entire existence has just been owned
Your hero is a lying sack of #### duh and he isn't even a good businessman at all...also duh
He inherited 400M of New York real estate in the early 80s...he could have liquidated, invested it in a conservative market fund, done nothing, and made far more money.

I honestly just don't understand why people keep responding to him. He's clearly a cartoon and people just can't help busting through the wall like Roger Rabbit when he hears "shave and a haircut" when he posts.

I wonder if Nancy Pelosi will ever run for president? Because that would be the test here. Other members of congress have no expectation of releasing their tax records, only those running for the president are expected to comply. The reason? Because members of congress are only accountable to the people of their district. The president is accountable to all Americans, so must be vetted completely, which has included release of tax records for transparency purposes, and then continual audit by the IRS. This is to understand where the president is receiving money and to whom he may have outstanding debit. This is done to limit possible compromise of the presidency by monetary benefits from outside interests. It's why Trump didn't release his records and why the IRS was prevented from doing its regular audits. I wonder what he had to hide?

LMAO, of course these two posts are back to back.
When I saw that Yoho post I started writing my own post asking people to not respond, but even that felt like a bit of a response, so I didn't bother. Clearly I needed to.

yeah I don't get why people still try to have a good faith argument with somebody who has made it abundantly clear that he's not interested in having one.

I didn’t think pointing out the hypocrisy required much debate. Posters are jumping out of their chairs because they know full well Pelosi has continually abused her political position to no end for financial gain but “she’s not a president” so it’s ok and fits their narrative. The fact so many pounced on my simple question should be telling.

see, that's the thing. The topic was how every president but one has released his tax returns as a pure formality, yet one not only didn't release them, but lied about how audits prevented him from releasing them and about the amounts he paid. Your reaction was basically "but what about Pelosi?", which makes no sense in that context. We're talking about presidents, clearly. Others have since explained that, yet you're just doubling-down on "Pelosi is bad, mkay?". You just throw around buzzwords and/or try to shift the topic to something else, and then you throw in a Fox News link as the cherry on the cake.

Uh huh, it is that thread. However, you seem to lack a fundamental understanding of even the most basic issue in American politics. Instead, you have your own "Dems are bad" narrative that you follow without question, so if this really is a thread focused solely on Trump (spoiler: it isn't at all), then you're guilty of the exact same problem in creating discussion.
Now this is genuine feedback for you to consider. I'm not immediately shut off from having a more nuanced debate on any issue whether that perspective comes from the left or right, but that's not what you want to do. If you want people to engage, you need to be willing to have meaningful discussion and consideration of the points people respond with. Until you do, you won't be taken seriously.

It's one thing to say she abused her political position, providing proof is another thing and you haven't done that. Plus you linked Fox News which is hyper partisan well known for not being truthful. You are going to need much more than that to convince me.

Yoho closing in on GOAT troll territory. How you guys still let yourselves get baited is getting to be embarrassing, I promise it's genuinely not hard to ignore him.

Can’t wait for another “the cure for darkness is light! we must combat bad faith arguments in the classical liberal tradition of vigorous debate! it is not Yoho we seek to convince, but the many readers who may see his arguments go unchallenged and believe them to be correct!” blah blah blah.
Just a constant stream of people getting suckered in.

Except for the fact that multiple people have said that, for example, investing in stocks shouldn't be allowed for members of Congress.
All the elected officials should have to disclose their tax returns. But we have to deal with the current reality not the reality that exists in your imagination.

Nobody has denied Senators and House Reps like Pelosi should be under the same financial scrutiny as the President.

I don't reply to him thinking I'll change his mind because I don't think it's possible. I reply to make sure that his posts don't cause anyone to start believing the B.S. he spouts. There was a guy much like Yoho on Reddit, and my brother thought he made sense, so I made sure to show him how wrong he was.
