Very proud of my team, but still upset with the result. Happy for Jarome and that he was the one that made setup the game winner. Kipper getting bronze was great too, the tourney almost worked out perfectly.
Very successful Olympics for both countries, we'll see ya in four years. I'm sure the American team will be back and fighting just as hard.

That's why it went in, surprised the heck out of Miller too. It was so fast the tv camera almost missed it.

I had to stop and think about this for a second as a) Hagman didn't get an assist on that goal and b) Hagman just got here and can hardly be called a team leader. Then I remembered Kipper got the assist and laughed. Not only is he a great goalie but apparently also a clutch playmaker.

Agreed, he is the tournament MVP by far.
Honorable mentions to...
Iggy - can't argue with leading scorer status.
Towes - Arguably Canada's best player, going to be a superstar for many years to come.
Chara - He was the defense for an entire team, Slovak's best hockey finish ever due in no small part to him.

I'd say your half right, during the round robin he carried them to a first place finish and a quarter final win, but they completely destroyed Finald and they held there own against Canada the shots were 39-36 today and the game wasn't as one sided as the first game.
The american program grew alot this tournament there young players will be even better at the next olympics if the NHL goes. We've been seeing it at hte world juniors the american program is getting really good.

Congrats to Team Canada. Enjoy the moment and thank you for making us so proud!
I can't even imagine if we lost - media would be all over Yzerman, Babs, the players etc. Great game and congrats to the US, too.

A moments hesitation on Rafalski's part was all it took.

I believe Toews was voted as Canada's best player in the tournament by the IIHF.

I honestly think Miller saves that 9 times out of 10, but I don't know if he blinked or what but he reacted a little slower than he normally does. To me it looked like the pressure got to him a bit, that Pronger shot off the post in the early 3rd he just completly missed. It was a good game by the goalies but not one goalie stood on his head where I was like wow.

With those huge pads, Millers head is extremely puny.

Canada *had* to win gold. Anything less would have been a major embarrassment. You could see the pressure on the players many times, while the Americans weren't expected to do much of anything, and wanted revenge for 2002.
