Johnson is a local guy (from here I mean) whom I have met a couple times and he is a solid individual, and a heck of a smart guy. he is not very mobile, but with that team he shouldnt have to be if things are schemed properly for his talents. This is Wade Philips make or break month as far as his future with Dallas goes though, no question.

He's not very mobile but he gets the ball out very quickly and doesn't take a lot of sacks. Dallas will be just fine.

For all of his yards and touchdowns, I was getting extremely annoyed at Romo's lackadaisical play. There's no way you can be successful, especially in the playoffs, if you don't protect the ball.
Let's see what Johnson will do with this opportunity.

I don't know if it's more wrong with the Pats but other teams aren't scared of them when Brady is not there.
This is a league where 100% of the coaches coach SCARED (pooch punts, short kickoffs, running 3 times, prevent defense etc etc..). Brady scared coaches and defenses into confusion and NE won alot of games last year even before they stepped onto the field. Cassell is 1 dimensional so teams can blitz without fear to beat him.
The defense is weaker but that was expected. The fact that they are on the field alot more now doesn't help.

Quietly, everyone in the NFC South is .500 or better...
I'm surprised at how well Atlanta is playing after last season. Carolina is about where I would expect them to be. Tampa has surprised me so far, especially with benching Garcia for a few games.
New Orleans could very well be 6-0 or 5-1 if not for a few bad bounces (or kicks for that matter). At 3-3, they are looking up at everyone else in the division. They have lost their 3 games by a total of 10 points, and they have been decimated with injuries. 3-3 and getting their full compliment of offensive players back is o.k. with me. This week they play at Carolina, then off to London to play San Diego.
I'd sacrifice a loss to SD and a 4-4 record to get that Carolina division win. The Saints are the only NFC South team without a division loss (1-0).
Oh, and Drew Brees is the truth. So great to have my teams' captains be Brees and Iginla.

Just reported on ESPN that the Cowboys punter on that last play yesterday suffered multiple fractures of his foot, and will be done for the year.
Slowly unravelling in Big D....good.

I'm very surprised at how well Matt Ryan is doing. It's not easy for ANY QB to come in and take over day 1 and have success. It wasn't easy for Marino. It wasn't easy for Elway (he didn't start his first game) and I don't think Ryan was being compared to any HOFers when he was drafted.
Atlanta may have themselves a winner.
I still think New Orleans will come out of that division, and I couldn't agree more about Brees.

Cowboys RB Felix Jones will miss 2-4 weeks with a partial tear in his hammy. Yikes...bad game for them yesterday.
Hasselback also going to miss another game according to ESPN.

Totally agreed with you on Brees, the guy has been hands-down ridonkulous so far this year. It's funny, as while listening to the Stamps game in the car today, every time Burris missed a pass I was swearin and frustrated with him. I'm too used to Brees and his deadly accurate passing, I'm totally spoiled at the QB position because of him.
Also agreed that I'd gladly take a loss to San Diego in London if it meant beating the Panthers this week. With how tight everything is in the South this year, divisional games are going to be totally key. It almost feels like a big SEC conference match-up to me this weekend, I've got butterflies already. I can't believe how strong the division is this year. Especially Atlanta, totally stunning.

WOW, any time the real Giants want to show up it would be great for Giant fans I am sure.
And for Browns fans hopefully these guys that stole the jerseys from the real Browns players, Anderson especially, are able to keep the regular guys off the field for the rest of the season.
A weird week of NFL games stays weird so far in the first half of the Monday Night'er.

Many MNF games have been extremely interesting this year. I guess that goes along with the league. Parity all around - teams that look great for a few weeks then seem to screw themselves. Interesting year.

C'mon troutman, the Browns won, how much more do you need?

Yes, how about the Browns? When you beat the Champion, doesn't that make you the Champion?

the one thing making me not fret too much about the play of the Pats is seeing the rest of the league in such parity. Everyone short of the Titans has had their asses handed to them at least once this year.

+1
Apart from 2 weeks, of solid money making picks, i had 2 of complete frackups. Still up 72$ but i think I might slow down the SS betting until things calm down.
The Giants, Cowboys, and Redskins all losing games they should have won - wowzers.

You have to wonder? 16-0 last season, easy schedule this season. For a 16-0 team the AFC should be a layup. Yeah they are missing Brady, but like you said, they are missing something else. Any team that doesn't blow the Chiefs out by 30+ points at home really has some serious issues.

Take Manning out of the Colts lineup, replace him with some guy who hasn't had a meaningful start in almost a decade and see what they'd do. It's not a layup for any team losing a player of that calibre.
The Pat's defense is also very old, something they should have addressed in the off season but did not.
