On the last drive of the first half Williams did look pretty good against the Bengals third stringers. His T.D. run did look Mahomes-esque with his escapability. They were sluggish in the first few drives but looked better later.

Well Caleb with a sub 50% completion, while Bagent completely ripped up the Bengals. Feels like the Bears choice is obvious here.

Eagles just picked up former 1st round Pick Dotson from the Commanders. Hasn't had a great start to his career but as a number 3 receiver he should excel. Eagles offense looking good. Just need Brown to avoid the drama...

Based on what I've read, they weren't using him properly last year. They had him playing outside WR primarily and running short routes to try and get YAC. He's a smaller WR (182 lbs) who can work outside, but is going to be better as a deep threat from the slot where he can get more free releases.

I agree. The one knock and a stat I had not seen before is interceptions by WR targets. He was 2nd with 11 but in 100 less attempts. Whaat does that mean? No idea but it could point to usage.
I like him him as a number 3 , slot receiver. Eagles have to be in the conversation as the best top 3 receivers on a team in the league,

Yeah, Hurts really doesn't have any excuses this year if he underperforms. The good news is that all of the beat writers are saying this is the best he's ever looked in training camp.
Hopefully it carries over into the season.

Apparently I was talking out of my ass. This kind of makes him sound like Agholor. I didn't hate Agholor because of who he was as a player. I hated him because he was a WR3 playing a WR1 role.

Washington 's failure to develop Dotson is a tale as old as time: changing coaching staffs, bad quarterbacks and poor organizational direction. In 2022, Dotson was used as an outside receiver running deep-to-intermediate routes in the Scott Turner offense. His volume was low and his catch rate was even lower but, hey -- his quarterbacks were Carson Wentz and Taylor Heinicke . He flashed separation and ripped off explosives when the ball actually came his way. There seemed to be something there.
But in 2023, new offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy stuck Dotson in the slot, and it went terribly. Dotson lacked the consistent hands and after-the-catch creation of an NFL slot -- his YAC over expectation of minus-29 was worse than every receiver in the league save one. New quarterback Sam Howell quickly moved away from targeting Dotson, and he began to fall down the depth chart.
In both 2022 and 2023, the Eagles' elite trio of pass catchers -- WR A.J. Brown , WR DeVonta Smith , and TE Dallas Goedert -- led the league in target share for their respective teams. In other words, no top-3 targets got a bigger percentage of the total team targets than the Philly trio.
But that was the old college-inspired, RPO-heavy Eagles offense. Under new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore , the Eagles figure to be less centralized in their target distribution to fit the mold of Moore's offenses with the Cowboys and Chargers. As quarterback Jalen Hurts executes more full-field reads and Smith and Brown experience a wider variety of alignments and routes, an additional receiver who can be trusted with a decent share of the targets is needed.

Sounds like his helmet mic was out for about the first 2 or so drives.
