So now that the dust has basically settled, has there been any plausible explanation given for why Boudreau was left twisting in the wind for those last 2 games? I get ownership can hire and fire who they want and when, but it was so strange to have everyone know the guy is getting canned in 4 days. Rip the band-aid off, jesus.

Such a bad look, which is saying something about a team that thought a V neck was a nice design esthetic and a fanbase that thinks rioting is a good way to end a cup run.

Didn’t want to pay an interim coach and were probably hoping Boudreau would walk away from his contract

That's insane. Treat someone terrible with the hopes that they will do them a solid and quit? #Canucklogic.

He sounded like he was on the block the first few weeks of the season when Rutherford was on afterhours saying the Canooks can a bad camp. They let him twist and twist and twist for nearly 5 months.

“I don’t know the reason I’m still here," admitted Boudreau after the game. "Maybe because Chicago, Seattle and Columbus are next.”

Sure enough, Tocchet's first game is Chicago. Rutherford hoping to give Tocchet a few easy wins to make himself look good.

The reason the Canucks suck is not because of the coach.

I hope the Canucks lose the next three games, not just lose, get blown out! It would be funny if the players quit on the new coach before he even started coaching the team.

no, no... we want them to go a mini-run. End up in 9th place. Keep Horvat for the stretch run (only to lose him for nothing in the offseason). In no way do we want this team close to Bedard.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Ok, they can have a new coach bump for RT all the way to the 9th place THEN, quit on him next season.

You have to believe that Horvat is thrilled he didn't sign an extension.

This is my concern as well. They have been shooting down the standings over the last month… I’m sure Canuck fans would say their team is not that lucky. However, us flames fans would counter with saying our luck is so bad that we would end up having McDavid and Bedard go to our two biggest rivals.

“Connor, Connor, Connor, Connor”… it would become unbearable to ever have the audio turned on while watching hockey.

With like 36 games left and the combination of new coach bump, re-energized players "flipping the page" with a new start and the Canooks not possibly being able to be worse than they've been so far, I think the Canucks will get more points in their remaining games than they have to date, moving them further away from a shot at Bedard.

It wouldnt matter with where they finish in the standings

Even if the lottery is won by the canooks, the ping pong ball would just spontaneously combust and bettman would demand a new lottery is run

No team has been screwed over by the draft lottery than us in terms of moving down picks

The only way we get him is if he demands to play here a la lindros refusing to play for quebec, that wouldnt be smart for him, but this is someone who picked the Canooks to win the cup before the season.... so theres a chance

We wont even get fantilli

You guys have nothing to worry about
