Just flew in from Vancouver. Smoke everywhere.
Wow downtown looks eerie. Nuclear winter.

Oh, I actually didn't notice it was from so early, just assumed there were more posts today. It felt super smokey all day in the SW, but definitely a notch higher the last few hours.

What do you consider to be "cleared smoke".?!??!

That was this morning, it was mint. Until I saw your reply, I was going to quote my own tweet with the Michael Scott "how the turntables" gif. The weather gods decided to tease by having it gorgeous all morning/early afternoon, then as soon as the Saints game was over & I lathered on the sunscreen and headed out, the smoke demons rolled in. It's bad tonight, can barely see the red sun.

It’s really strange the last couple of days. Seems nice in the morning but over the course of the day it just got worse.

We had a bunch of rain last night, so that's probably what made the morning better.

I bet it was a beautiful lake, full of beautiful people, enjoying a manmade oasis mother nature only wishes she could create.

I've never heard of swimmer's itch in Auburn Bay, and I've been in the lake a tonne this summer and last summer.
Our friends that live on the lake are in near every day and they have never mentioned any issues.
Edit: yeah I haven't lived in Sylvan since '17, I assume that's where the swimmer's itch comment came from. BTW, Sylvan never suffered from that either, to the best of my knowledge. But, Gull Lake, well that had some troubles.

It has been an amazing year out there though. Kids caught some fish. We did a tonne of Kayaking and swimming. Lots of picnics on the Island. Most importantly no one from Red Deer or Edmonton there to ruin things.

I just made it up. Sorry.
Yeah, Gull Lake is kind of nasty. It's a bit of a stagnant lake, I think. I do like the campground, though, but I don't go in the water there. Same with Pine Lake.

Gull can be fine, you just need to do you due diligence.
I'd never set foot in Pine, it is straight up nasty.

I had a guy tell me you basically have to power polish your boat after you take it out of Pine or it's left with sludge on the bottom.

I wonder if it was the same guy that told me "It's ok to swim in the middle of the lake as long as you aren't in for too long".
Idiot
