You admitted this was a drive by in the game thread now you are trotting it out again
Seems like smith failing is more important to you than the Flames winning as long as you can pretend you are right

What if Rittich gets hurt? I sure hope the Flames have someone else other than Smith to start a playoff game if that happens.

Isn’t there some weird rule that makes acquiring McHardtospell since he was claimed on waivers or am I confused?

I’m still hoping someone gets the stats on how many rebounds smith gives up and where he ranks league wide but there’s no way he isn’t in top 5 for number of rebounds which naturally should equate to more shots against

Yeah he has to re clear waivers (only to the teams ranked below Carolina at the time on waiver peiority who get first dibs on acquiring him for free)

All fine, but far from "Gotta bump this thread".
I can't say with 100% confidence Rittich gets a point in tonight's game either. The fix was in from the first puck drop and that's not on the goalie.

To be clear, Smith gets credit for the team winning games when the Flames outscore his allowances.

No way Canes are going to give up on him as long as they are still conteding for the playoffs. He is in fact their starter now. So we better beat them on sunday to make them more willing to sell, but Canes play quite well as of late. I am afraid we have just entered the slump though. Thought this game was much more important than some may think, we have a really tough schedule for February and to get into it with a win against reigning champs could help a lot.

Anyone who thinks Smith is an acceptable backup has a very poor hockey mind.

Some fans just can't admit when a guy that plays for their team sucks...I get it, when I was younger I used to be such a fanboy.
After years of the team not being good enough I realize this is professional sports and these guys are paid millions of dollars. Smith sucking could very well cost the Flames their season due to playoff seeding or heaven forbid if Rittich got hurt and they had to go into the playoffs with him.
Now is the time to fix it, or at least try. How dumb will the Flames feel for worrying about Smiths feelings next year when he isn't even in the league
Calgary has a long line of players that were considered pretty good around here and then out of the league the next season or two

I try my best to be a level headed fan, but anyone who thinks Smith is good enough as a back up is just in denial imo. How can you watch his game and say that's acceptable? It's not just his bad save %, it's always the time of his weak goals. You can't count on the guy during crunch time to perform. Guy just kills all momentum for the team, and it's freaking deflating. Flames seriously need to address this before the trade deadline passes if they are serious about making any noise in the playoffs. Gonna be a short post season otherwise.

I think they're just looking at the team winning as justification of Smith being okay. He's really not if you watch the games.

smith has started less than half of flames games but accounts for 71% of their regulation losses. this is on top of his being sheltered and rarely used against even slightly dangerous teams. in fact, his last win against a playoff team was at the beginning of december.
smith has the worst save percentage in the league of goalies who have played more than 20 games. he's third last when you lower the threshold to 10 games. the other 2 guys have both been on waivers this season.
it is incredible that they are where they are with this level of goaltending. get him the #### out of here. he's done and it's been so ####ing obvious. for god's sake stop throwing away points.

Worse yet, I think they view Smith as more of a 1B than a back-up. Otherwise why give him the first start after the break?
